The linuxmce-1.0-packages.iso downloaded from the mirrors is FAULTY. It contains two files that are incorrectly named:
libsdl1.2debian-pluto-oss_1.2.7+1.2.8cvs20041007+pluto-2_i386.deshould be libsdl1.2debian-pluto-oss_1.2.7+1.2.8cvs20041007+pluto-2_i386.deb - (the final "b" in "deb" missing)
lirc-modules-2.6.17-11-generic_0.8.0-5ubuntu1+184.108.40.206-11.35_i38should be lirc-modules-2.6.17-11-generic_0.8.0-5ubuntu1+220.127.116.11-11.35_i386.deb - (final characters missing)
The install CD created from the downloaded iso does not work. You can extracted the packages into a directory and then burn the files directly onto the CD, or you can repackage them to an iso with
mkisofs -o /directory/Name.iso /directory.
As a result the md5sum changes also
