Click on refresh and see if that helps
Refresh always helps. Even if I rotate screen, then it's redrawn again and then sensor is refreshed into proper color... Regards, Bulek.

Hi,
A couple of requests now for the feedback on touch. Shouldn't be too hard so will try and look at it this week.
I think there was a couple of other requests that I will look at as well.
wrt. floorplans; what exactly isn't working? The display of floorplans? Just the motion sensor being triggered?
Basically - all touch orbiters are just standard orbiters that run on the core and render to an image file (rather than native libraries). So all orbiter functionality should work AFAIK.
Regards Darren
Hi, I meant situation when for instance motion sensor is triggered it's painted red on floorplan. Side by side, same floorplan, same sensor - works on Winxp Orbiter, but doesn't change colour on Android one... Thanks for efforts, regards, Bulek.

Standalone DCE / Developers / Re: Mini installation

Hi, Hari do you have any plans regarding visualization for mini installation ? Have come to this interesting possibility - KnxWeb.... Example: http://penhard.anthony.free.fr/domotique/#It's written in Jquery (Ajax) and needs some sort of xml server (it generates xml query every second and gets values that are displayed...). Isn't Orbiter Proxy something near being xml server ? I've written Perl server for it, but I guess that Perl is too much for mini installation.... Opinions ? Thanks in advance, regards, Bulek.

Hi,
I'm new one to Android field. Have managed to install Orbiter and it works quite ok. Thanks to author for great effort.
Have two quick questions : - can I get some feedback on touch event (I'm on cheap, resistive touch tablet) - click, beep, ...? - do floorplans work ? I've tried with desktop and Android Orbiters side by side and motion sensor doesn't update on Android Orbiter.... Is it suppose to work or is this not working yet ?
Thanks in advance,
Bulek.

LinuxMCE / Users / Two Android Orbiters - pros and cons ?

Hi,
I first express gratitude to both authors of Android Orbiters. But when one has to choose, would like to compare them. I'm new to Android and would kindly ask if someone with better insight can give some comparison on wiki between two Android Orbiters.
BTW, I also have problem downloading Orbiter from los93sol , cause link in forum thread doesn't work... In SVN there are 3 binaries and no info which one to use...
Thanks in advance, regards, Bulek.

LinuxMCE / Developers / Re: Integrating Kmotion
|

Hi,
after a long time... I'm about to install KMotion on 7.10 version and have few questions...
1. it seems that KMotion wants to take over control of motion. Is this ok under LMCE ?
2. any hints-advices-experiences how to integrate KMotion under LMCE ?
3. which version of motion (can it be latest) ? We're using older snapshot API via signals under lmce...
Update: 4. I've compiled newer version of motion but it seems that lmce stops working with it (something is probably wrong with signals and snapshots). Original binary for 2.3.9 Ubuntu gutsy version works ok, but doesn't work if I compile by myself... What is missing ?
5. - Do you use motion detection/recording in Dianemo/Cascade system? What settings/strategy regarding false positives (filters,despeckle,....) ?
Thanks in advance,
regards, Bulek.

Adam,
Firstly, thank you for giving us this orbiter, exciting stuff.
I am experiencing the exact same problems that have already been mentioned. Screen doesn't quite fit (black vertical strips to left and right), and buttons don't appear to be mapped correctly. Resolution of my device is 800x480 (Storage Options Scroll 7" tablet).
...
Cheers, Matt.
Hi, I have similar problem, although I'm on 7.10 and have installed 2.0 of Orbiter proxy... This touch orbiter seems to work, only I get different actions than presses done. Is this false mapping of touch events limited only to certain cases ? Thanks i nadvance, regards, Bulek

LinuxMCE / Feature requests & roadmap / Re: Speech Recognition
|
on: February 12, 2011, 01:29:28 am

I, too, am interested in the prospect of having voice recognition and speech synthesis integrated into this project. From what I understand, CMUsphinx is a backend, much like mythtv has a frontend and a backend. So all that would need to be done is create a small program that is able to tell the backend to listen for voice, then be able to parse the voice it captured to a command, then be able to pass that command on to whatever program was called in the command. So, say, "Call Fred" would tell Asterisk to start up, and it would pass the argument "Fred" to it to call Fred automatically. I was thinking about toying with the notion of integrating this somehow. Now that it seems that other people are engaged in this, maybe I could lend a hand?
I guess that noone is working on it actively. If I may suggest, I think going "the Asterisk way" is probably most efficient under LMCE. Tieing speech recognition to Asterisk would be the right thing, since we have embedded phones on MD, VOIP support and Asterisk already in LMCE.... Few starting points : http://scribblej.com/svn/http://www.syednetworks.com/asterisk-integration-with-sphinx-voice-recognition-systemHTH, regards, Bulek.

Hi,
thanks for effort and sharing this also for 7.10 users. It seems to work, although I'm not sure what are the novelties in 2.0 version.
Reading those, I guess it should refresh automatically display if for instance some light changes it's state. But it seems this is not working - should this be functional ? Does this work for anyone on 7.10 ?
Regards, Bulek.

I have read various posts about them giving people trouble, but then there are others who have no problems. Is there a make or model that anybody knows of that is guaranteed to work? Will be using it on an Asus atom mini ITX board if that is relevant. I nearly bought this http://lmcecompatible.com/#ecwid:mode=product&product=839076 but it's 37 quid in total to get it to England (with a modem adapter)....... seemed a bit steep to me. Cheers, Matt. Hi, I won't be of much help but : - I usually buy few different brands to try out (or maybe one, I think they are really cheap now in your local stores) and then buy perhaps some more of those that work - by the time you get the experience and could recomend it further, there are new models and you cannot purchase tested ones.... BTW, I recently purchase mini bluetooth adapters from Hong Kong (for 3-4 EUR inclu. shipment) and they work (Win only)... HTH, regards, Bulek.

Hi folks, The "mini" variant of LinuxMCE, aka "Standalone DCE" runs very nice on a Guru Plug. It is the successor of the Sheevaplug. 1,2GHz ARM, 512MB RAM, 512MB NAND flash + other goodies. Perfect low power platform (<10W) for DCE. It is even powerful enough to do a native compilation: http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/GuruPlug. Just testing the unit with a Tricklestar Z-Wave stick, behaves quite well so far, very fast in comparison to the http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Mini2440br Hari Hi, on Wiki page, there is a link to article about heating problems with Guruplug. I've just checked data about Guruplug Server Plus http://www.newit.co.uk/shop/proddetail.php?prod=GuruPlug-ServerPlusand there is a note about : This unit contains a small fan to aid in heat dissipation. Is this fan present in older units? Is this a solution to described heating problems? Or do they exists also with that fan being present all the way ? Thanks in advance, regards, Bulek.

yeah, that was my intention. All parts besides "CreateDevice" are GPL. I did not yet rewrite the GeneralInfoPlugin as it just uses the CreateDevice parts for device creation. I've contacted the copyright holder of the Pluto stack and asked if we can have the createdevice sources as GPL. If not, I'm going to rewrite the needed bits and redo a small GI Plugin.
The lighting plugin is also rewritten, it basically just contains the status updates for now.
more to come :-)
br Hari
Update: Found answers to several my questions in other forum posts. Have collected varios posts and createw wiki page with condensed info and links to resources... But still interested in below question.. First, thanks for great effort... perhaps any updates on status of CreateDevice and GI plugin ? - I guess that for now, one has to compile CreateDevice by hand... Any notes to help on that ? - or maybe if you choose to create device without CreateDevice - how difficult it is (simple mysql operation) ? Thanks in advance, regards, Bulek.
