LinuxMCE / Users / Dianemo S (maybe LMCE): problem with large video collection ?
|
on: April 29, 2013, 11:13:19 pm
|
|
Hi,
I'm spotting frequent crashes when I try to enter Video collection media browser. I always try this on main Screen Orbiter... I get either really slow response for first screen or even get DCERouter crash, cause obviously mysql query didn't finish in planned time and DCERouter restarts...
Anyone with similar size of collection? Any other advice ?
Regards,
Bulek.

Andrew,
is LMS taking care only of audio files? Somewhere between updates I got into empty Video file list if I set sort by filename... Also, I think that only a subset of files appear when I select by author... All views are empty...
Thanks in advance,

Hi, under Dianemo we have KMotion now. But I still remember that motion did movies into /home/cameras tree. Somewhere deeper are jpegs, higher are avi's... I still have this settins under Motion Wrapper device ("Extra Parameters") : #extra parameters defined by user
#image settings frequency 0 rotate 0 width 320 height 240 framerate 10 auto_brightness on brightness 128 contrast 128 saturation 128 hue 128
#http control control_localhost off control_html_output on control_port 8888
#filters despeckle EedDl lightswitch 50 minimum_motion_frames 5
#detection noise_tune on threshold_tune on smart_mask_speed 5 gap 5 post_capture 5 pre_capture 3
#output locate on text_double on webcam_quality 70 webcam_maxrate 5 text_changes on text_right %d-%m-%Y\\\\n%T
#movies ffmpeg_cap_new on ffmpeg_timelapse 60 ffmpeg_timelapse_mode daily #ffmpeg_video_codec msmpeg4
#snapshot config snapshot_interval 60 snapshot_filename %Y/%m/%d/%H/%M_%S jpeg_filename %Y/%m/%d/%H/%M_%S movie_filename movies/%d_%m_%Y_%H_%M_%S timelapse_filename %Y/%m/%d-timelapse
Maybe you can figure out what you need for your case... HTH, regards, Bulek.

LinuxMCE / Users / Dianemo S: Logitech Media Server and tags problems
|
on: April 16, 2013, 11:32:08 am
|

Hi,
I'm not sure to what extent this also applies for LMCE, but I'm having a lot of problems under Dianemo S that currently switched to Logitech Media Server as internal music system...
First of all, the main problem is that my collection is not properly tagged and I'm waiting for option to use it via Folder structure... But that's another story... I'm trying to tag my collection as much as possible correctly, but have problems...
I've tagged few folders with mp3, wav and flac files. Then I tried to use LMS to rescan library and encountered following problems : 1. LMS behaves strange when you do only "scan for new and changed" media files. It finds all files, but when it should end scan it waits there forever... I have to abort scan. What I've learned is that it's recomendable to do full rescan each time...
2. if I scan only specific folder then all tag data seem to appear correctly on LMS (I'm not doing anything on Dianemo yet)... But when I do rescan of whole library (all folders) then my data from specific folder don't appear anymore... There are few errors about incorrect tag values on some files, but I guess this shouldn't interfere with files that are correctly tagged... But obviously something is wrong...
Anyone with same or similar problems ? Any advice ?
Thanks in advance,
regards,
Bulek.

Bulek,
with an original LinuxMCE setup, you could add another genre to all these files, and they could be selected using this additional genre. No idea if that is supported under the Dianemo scheme of things.
Thanks for info... I guess that Dianemo depends on features that are offered by Logitech Media Server and for now, I couldn't find any way to do this... But who knows... Regards, Bulek.

LinuxMCE / Marketplace / Re: Update available - Logitech Media Server & UpdateMedia further integrated
|
on: March 23, 2013, 08:58:12 am

We have released an update that further integrates Logitech Media Server into Dianemo. We now use LMS to scan your audio media library and we then read the LMS database for any mp3 tag metadata. UpdatedMedia then uses that meta data directly. This means that Dianemo's internal DB get's better meta data about the audio tracks in your library and remains in sync with LMS now.
Another advantage we get from this tight integration with LMS is the tighter coupling with your iTunes audio library if you are an iTunes user. If you have stored your iTunes library on a storage device that is managed by your Dianemo NC then you will see in your Orbiters exactly the same meta data about your music that iTunes see's as we leverage LMS's ability to read iTunes meta data. This symbiotic relationship with LMS is dynamic in that as LMS scans for new material in your media library Dianemo will see those changes too and your Orbiter's will display them - this applies to music track and also to iTunes Playlists.
I know lot's of you have been asking for better playlist integration and also for a way to get your iTunes playlists into Dianemo... if you're one of those people you will be very happy with this update! If you already have a large number of playlists created in iTunes this allows you to replicate those in your Dianemo Orbiters and use then directly in your Dianemo S system. As you edit playlists in iTunes (or on a iOS device thats sync'd with iTunes) your changes will be picked up by Dianemo (it may take about 10 mins for changes to be reflected in your Orbiters).
Expect further announcements about integration with LMS in the coming months. There will be a new Dianemo S wiki page entry covering LMS integration shortly.
Don't forget to run the updater script regularly to get this update and future ones too.
All the best
Andrew
**Note; Make sure you configure LMS to use your audio media directory otherwise you will not get any meta data.
Hi, I'm a bit disappointed with this enhancement :-( . We've lost possibility to sort/browse music collection by filename that we were using for at least few years now. WAF (Wife Acceptance Factor) for our system is now much lower.... Any chance that user can retain/select older Audio collection behaviour ? Right now, beside collection being organized by genre (domestic, foreign, pop, rock, ...) we also have certain directories where kids have stored their own mp3s. They are from different genres - how can I integrate that into collection without using Directory structure ? Can I use any other attribute for that to denote those files for daughter's files that can be easily selected from new interface ? Regards, Bulek.

LinuxMCE / Users / Re: Can Not gain Access To FreePBX Setup

Hi,
amphibian: I'd love to read more info about your setup. It sounds interesting (not for casual LMCE use, but for others) and would love to read about it...
Also, I'm using extensively FreePBX (have more incoming trunks: VOIP provider that is not supported under LMCE over dedicated network card, VOIP provider over Internet, Sipura 3000 as GSM gateway, Sipura 2000 as doorphone, POTS gateway, then more outgoing trunks : VOIP provider 1 and 2, Sipura 3000 for GSM calls... So far I'm lucky that Dianemo still has Freepbx, so I can continue using it... I also think that call routing for each user is a bit overhead for simple, ordinary use of LMCE. That's why I do this in dirty way - I create additional user HousePhone, reroute incoming calls to this user, and set call routing over web-admin only for this user...
But can understand, that for simplicity, Freepbx has been ruled out...
Regards,
Bulek.

Hmm,
just wanted to enter my usage of LMCE, but more than 3 options are not allowed. I'm using Dianemo for all checks except Gaming and Other. Pretty complex system and perhaps that's the cause that I have to fix things quite often.

Bulek.

LinuxMCE / Users / Re: Collaborator Wanted: Verbal Announcements
|
on: September 06, 2012, 11:46:37 am

Hi,
I'm Dianemo user that really wants to get more Audio informations/announcements from my system. Not sure for LMCE, but under Dianemo speech announcement don't work if you're interrupting any other media being played. Weird things happen (mostly media won't continue after announcement, most of the time also announcement is cut off prior its end). I think announcements should be announced by some certain sound (so it can get attention), media faded to silent and back afterwards.... Also currently I'm not sure what happens if several announcements hit the engine at once...
But I guess more proper way wound be to divide into two separate tasks: 1. gathering informations from various sources into LMCE 2. using stored informations in verbal announcements
I'm not developer, so I'm not sure how this can be properly accomplished under LMCE/Dianemo... But I guess TextToSpeech needs some adjustments or bug fixing, and at the same time use of stored data in announcements could be introduced at the same time...
I'm also thinking about making those annoucements a bit more "human" (varying sentences for same bit of information), but yet don't know of any such system that would get announcements closer to natural language.
HTH, regards,
Bulek.

Hi,
I've also had similar thoughts and I always set up telephony in my way:
- I create one "dummy" user called HousePhone and then set all routing magic on that user. Also, when you leave home, you just set HousePhone user to "Away" mode instead of changing mode of all users...
HTH,

LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: Dianemo S - configuring cisco7970

Hi,
I have 3 Cisco 7970 phones on Dianemo 11.10 via SCCP and they don't work properly. Audio is missing, sometimes one-way, sometimes no audio...
The problem is that SCCP is not yet properly supported on that version of asterisk.
HTH,
Bulek.
