Hi all,

I'm trying to install the amd64 bit version on a Hyperthreading machine from HP a Dc7600 with a pvr-500 in it because i have a lot off problems with my hardware with the i386 version of a diffrent hp machine a d530 sff with a pvr-500 in it. The problem is now that the installation went fine but when i went through the whole installation and setup and when i was fineshed i halted the machine the stranged thing was that the machine didn't halted but rebooted <--> that is one, ---> two is that when i put in my pvr-500 in a free pci slot, i turned on my machine and he booted into kubuntu splash screen for 1/3 the way a freezed. MMhh i thought lets try the other pci slot mmmh same problem, took the card out booted up and everything fine, before everybody is going to tell me that my card is broken, no that is not the problem a have two of these pvr-500, and with mythbuntu everything is running fine, ps i turned off I/O for APIC MODe also off in the bios, tried to upgrade the bios and downgraded into diffrent version but no luck and no diffrence. This same machine is running the amd64 and the i386 from mythbuntu very fine, what could the problem be and what is this with the poweroff/ halt reboot thing, this i already had on the i386 version cd and dvd and on diffrent hardware.

Hi,

For what i can test and see is that the auto learn function does NOT respond to any actions buttons i press on a remote to learn that function, the ir emitters are being delivered with this transceiver / transmitter.

Hi devs,

But the stranged thing is that sometimes when i TEST a code is see my IR emitters glow up, so i have the idea that something happens, but after an half an hour this doesn't work anymore so what i mean is that the whole transmitting thingy isn't working anymore, i have to reboot then to try further, beacause i really don't know if there is an service or deamon i can restart like /etc/init.d/lircd. Please can someone help us with this?

Hi,

I have an Phillips mce tranceiver / transmitter, it works for just remote controlling, my experience with the transmitter part i will inform you shortly, but what i can see is that in Beta 4 the mce transceiver / transmitter is being installed automatically as LIRC Embedded Transmitter, and i can see that my ir emitters that you connect this to the mce transceiver / transmitter with 3,5 mm jack plug in the back of the device ( 2 x 3,5 mm jack holes ) are trying to transmit something when i want to control my tv or amp but i didn't manage the right codes yet so if someones has these please share them with me ( amp = Sony str-db930 ) ( tv = Philips 32W8718/12 ) .

Hi Zaerc,

When mythtv starts within linuxMCE, it runs for approximatly 8 a 10 seconds and then it freezes that's it basically. It really locks up, i went through the log files but what i surely noticed is that when you kill all mythbackend processess and rename the mythtv-backend in /etc/init.d/mythtv-backend to /etc/init.d/mythtv-backend.original is that when you run mythtbackend -v important for instance, that when the tv runs for that magical 8 or 10 seconds the switching between channeld goes a lot faster and better.

Hi there,

I'm using linuxMCE from version 1.0 till now 0710 Beta4 in a testcase with an HP d530 sff with 2 x pvr-500 with an 80GB sata 3gb/s disk in it, the same setup i used with mythbuntu and all other mythtv distro's, mythbuntu worked fine for me but the music thingy in mythtv i didn't really like because i have an collection of nearly 600 gb of music. So i my quest for looking for an alternative mediacenter went on. I stumpled againt another GREAT open source mediacenter with also the possibilty to control home automation devices --> ): LinuxMCE, this i began to install and what was it a big suprised i ran into mythtv again inside linuMCE, so my thought was with the knowledge and pain sometimes to install and get that one going on to get my hands dirty again on mythtv, tested some few things with the disless feature, wich i can really recommend " drbl / clonezilla " the one i use for many months now as my diskless feature for mythbuntu, the guys over there are maybe considering to implement that one into mythbuntu hardy hardon ( drbl / clonezilla ) so i went on and on, i'd also like to see some european xmltv providers that are not in the xmltv package, for instance i live in the Netherlands we have many cable providers here but the only good xmltv provider is " tv_grab_nl_py http://code.google.com/p/tvgrabnlpy/

Ok enough history lessons, the main thing is that i CANNOT watch tv properly with linuxMCE / mythtv with 1x , 2x pvr-500 cards from hauppage, but with an other pvr distro like mythbuntu where mythtv is the main application it really works great, can someone please help me out because i'm close to the edge to go back to mythbuntu, but i don't want that because i want to focus on linuxMCE and all of its features. PLEASE HELP PLEASE HELP, ok please help out a poor man from Holland !

( linuxMCE 0710 Beta4, HP d530 SFF 2.8, 4 memory gb, 1000 mbps nic ,  80gb sata 3 gb/s, 2x pvr-500 mce from Hauppage, and off course the gyro remote " The CHief "

Thnx in advance,

Dave Haakenhout

Hi,

I've installed the Beta 3 successfully, but what i noticed was that in beta something changed in mythtv, now i have even worse problems with this beta 3, for instance,

Beta 3 --> mythtv --> hauppage pvr 500 mce :

- no sound
- changing channels takes really long, and when changed the video is terrible slow.

Can someone tell me what this all is, because i really lost it, i don't wanna go back to mythbuntu because i got used to use linuxmce, but mythbuntu i can watch tv and in linuxmce not.

Please can someone help me?
