LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: Dianemo IOS oribitor - Linuxmce

I wasn't able to get this working yet but I am going to try LinuxMCE 10 as soon as I can get it installed. If it works I'm just going to use that and move everything over to 10. I am sure it's going to be worth the move anyway Ok...update the thread as soon as you have some news. Andrew

LinuxMCE / Users / Re: Dianemo S: Sony IP Control Remote
|
on: October 30, 2012, 11:28:29 pm

Andrew,
uplink helped me to setup the sony as a external source. That was not done automatically when i followed your wiki.
So for now it is working, but maybe wiki has to be updated with the steps to go.
That Wiki entry only covers the control of the IP TV or BluRay not the switching of an External source. Another section is being worked on for the configuration of external sources. All the best Andrew

LinuxMCE / Marketplace / Dianemo S - iTunes Playlists are now synced and available on your Dianemo system
|
on: October 24, 2012, 06:33:16 pm
|
If your an iTunes user who uses iTunes playlists a lot then you are going to really love this update! We recently added support for accessing your iTunes playlists from the Dianemo Orbiter. This requires that your iTunes library, or libraries, be hosted on a storage system that your NC can access ie a local Hard Drive or remote hard drive in a NAS or PC share on the LAN. You then point your iTunes PC's/Mac's at the LAN based location of your iTunes library so that you can still purchase & rip new content to it and access it just like you always have. Now however you Dianemo NC can access your iTunes library at the same time and because its hosted on storage that is always present on your LAN that content is always available for playback via your Dianemo system too. Every 10 minutes your Dianemo system will look for new iTunes playlists and automatically make them available to you on all of your Orbiters - this means that you can enjoy the exact same playlists that you use on your iOS devices on your Dianemo system and they are always available to you at any time. It also means that you can edit, change and create new playlists any time you like in iTunes on your PC or Mac or even on your iOS devices and have them appear on your Dianemo Orbiters just a few minutes later. Having a party or a BBQ? Just use iTunes to create a great new play list and know that moments later it will be available house wide via Dianemo too. If you know iTunes playlists then you already know how to create play lists for your Dianemo system - its that simple. Added a wiki section on integrating your Dianemo installation with iTunes... see here; http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Dianemo_S#Using_iTunes_with_your_Dianemo_SystemAll the best Andrew

LinuxMCE / Marketplace / Dianemo S - Support for the RTI AD-4 Audio Distribution System
|
on: October 24, 2012, 11:58:55 am
|
|
We are currently adding support for the RTI AD-4 Audio Distribution System to Dianemo S. The AD-4 is a compact 4x source, 4x stereo zone 1u shelf or rack mount zone Amp with and integrated audio matrix & rs232 control. It supports in-room local input wall plates (useful if you need to get an in-room source back to the central rack) and other standard RTI peripherals. As part of an installation the AD-4 would deliver the Stereo Audio sound capability in up to 4x stereo zones with Dianemo providing the control UI via Orbiters and all of the standard zone/room logic that you might expect from any Dianemo installation.
RTI AD-4 support will be released in an update in early Nov 2012.
All the best
Andrew

LinuxMCE / Help Wanted / Re: Secure hdmi access
|
on: October 23, 2012, 01:42:13 pm

I don' think it is the wrong way to go. I will check your suggestion. But I'm also open to other ideas As far as i am aware there are no features in CEC that will allow you to 'exclude' or bar a valid HDMI device from the bus. HDCP obviously only allows devices on the bus with valid keys display certain content... but all devices you might want to connect will likely have valid keys I would imagine so I can't see there is any mileage in HDCP either. Interesting requirement though! All the best Andrew

LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: Dianemo S: Volume of UPnp Devices
|
on: October 21, 2012, 06:38:17 pm

Great, so where should i search, if i can't control the volume? All other things are working...
Marc
You need to set a MediaConfig line for the Room that each of your SqueezeBoxes/SqueezeSlaves are in. Therefore if you have a SqueezeBox in Room ID#10 you would set the AudioDev to the Dev ID# of the SqueezeBox in that Room (get that from Web Admin obviously)... let's say the Dev ID# for that SqueezeBox is 30. Therefore you would add a line such as the one below; Room=10: AudioDev=30; VideoDev=; KeepScreenOnForOSD=yes All the best Andrew

LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: Dianemo S: MD - Package has been kept back
|
on: October 17, 2012, 09:15:27 pm
|
Dear Andrew, on an MD following is produced if i run /usr/pluto/bin/Diskless_Setup.sh dianemo-media-manager is already the newest version. The following packages were automatically installed and are no longer required: pluto-plcbus pluto-sony-ip-remote grub2-common libnspr4-0d flashplugin-installer pluto-raid-tools pluto-video-screen-saver gettext-base grub-pc-bin tcl8.5 tk8.5 grub-common libnss3-1d Use 'apt-get autoremove' to remove them. 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded. Reading package lists... Done Building dependency tree Reading state information... Done Calculating upgrade... Done The following packages have been kept back: dianemo-base-packages 0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 1 not upgraded.
Do i have to worry about? Maybe thats the problem, why stereo sound is still not working? Marc I don't think that's a problem. But I will check for you and post back here. All the best Andrew

LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: Dianemo S: Volume of UPnp Devices
|
on: October 16, 2012, 04:09:02 pm

Andrew,
i have two upnp devices
#57 Sonos 3 (Room 4) #103 SqueezeBox Radio (Room 7)
they both work fine in just playing sounds (or displaying favorites) But they won't switch the volume.
in media_conf, i have following lines:
Room=4; AudioDev=57; VideoDev=; KeepScreenOnForOSD=no Room=7; AudioDev=103; VideoDev=; KeepScreenOnForOSD=no
should the volume Control work ?
Marc
In Room#'s 3 & 4 what device is receiving the audio commands? If you have no external device like an Amplifier then it would be the AppServer for the MM in each case. All the best Andrew

8.10 final to be specific. thanks again
We have large numbers of customers using our App and I am sure there are many users using RoamingOrb too; Without seeing your system I cant say for sure what is wrong... but the fact that RoaminOrb and the Dianemo iOS App both behave similarly I can say pretty much definitively that the issue is in your config of the Core. LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: Dianemo S: Zotac MD hangs at console
|
on: October 15, 2012, 12:58:08 pm
|
Dear Andrew,
sorry bout that, but it was hanging for more than 3 hours at the "nvidia installing" message, so i thought, that you have gone away :-)
But know, i only have one problem....
(and yes i have read your wiki, its like a bible to me :-))
HDMI works for dts But it does not work for stereo. Mean i can't hear any cds or mp3s and even movies with stereo won't work. All other things like dvd with dolby digital sound is no problem.
Furthermore all mkv files are not working anymore
Thanks for your support Marc
Hi Marc, OK let us look at the new MM and see why that audio issue is happening. Can you confirm the device ID for the MM to me? All the best Andrew

Andrew,
i deleted the MD completely. Now its device 125. After recreating it, i can switch to 1080p in av wizard (btw, now the naming of the connectors is different anyway). I choose the second - longer - soundcard and get both dd sound, but no stereo through hdmi.
Marc
Hi Marc, We had manually fixed the original Orbiter :-( Yes the connectors are different now because you are running the nVidia driver... originally you were not as the pkg had not installed due to your DNS problem on that MM. We have changed some code in our scripts to fix that so hopefully that will not happen again - your new MM is indicating the fix is working. Did you read this section of the Dianemo S wiki page relating to on-board soundcards on nVidia video cards?; http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Dianemo_S#Configuring_HDMI_Audio_for_nVidia_Video_Cards_with_on-board_Sound_cardsAndrew
