I have noticed this issue as well. I will try to disable the composite output in xorg.conf when i get home from work. Will post the results here. Cheers and thanks for the tip ;)

Browsing the Pluto forums shows that the intermatic is not recognized, i would assume that you would run into the same issues with linuxmce. It seems that the most reliable (and confirmed working) usb z wave device is the homepro ZCU000. Unfortunately it has been discontinued but a new version has been scheduled for release some time this year. I for one will wait for the new homepro.

Edit: Oops, beat me to it ;) You could probably find it here as far as i know the source for both linuxmce and pluto are there.

Also, i am aware that in xine you should be able to press "a" to change the aspect. But doesn't myth do this automatically by sensing the source and knowing the monitor specs? IF linuxMCE's xine_player could do that it would be a lot more convenient than having to do it manually. Perhaps the option to change the aspect manually as well could be included but I think that having it done automatically would better suit the Linuxmce experience. Do you agree?

The XBMC Visualizations are phenomenal. Especially g-force and milkdrop. It shouldn't be too difficult to add something similar to Linuxmce and also include Electric Sheep. This would really make Linuxmce more user friendly and nicer to look at.

I guess you could add the stretch option to the post processing options although i guess that would end up stretching all images, even ones that should be displayed in 4:3. Anyway, if the issue is with the xine_player as sharlee_angelo suggested then it shouldn't be too hard for the devs to fix the problem. If the version that mythtv uses can autodetect that the source and adjust the screen/aspect accordingly then we know it is possible. I for one would prefer that the aspect was done automatically but even have a button to toggle through the different aspects would work i guess.

Which settings were you tinkering with to adjust the advanced deinterlace options? Were you just editing xine.conf?

Im hitting a very similar wall. All of my xvid/.avi movies play fine, they show up in 16/9 if they were encoded that way or show in 4/3 and the images are not distorted in any way. However, any Dvd that is played from the drive or that has been ripped to the core shows up horizontally squashed. The movies are anamorphic or letterbox and my screen is 16/9 720P native projector. There is plenty of room on both sides of the screen for the image to be stretch so that it will display properly but it doesn't. I had messed with xine settings quite a bit trying to find a fix and nothing worked. I have posted a bug report on the pluto forums, if both of you could add your particular info to that bug report as well it might help the developers to troubleshoot the issue.

@cckrobinson I am wondering where you heard about this "recommended fix"? Can you give me a little more info on the process, i might give that a try myself. Cheers.

Hey there, this should be a quick one to fix ;) All  you have to do is make sure you have Id-My-disc (and dvdlibs if you are going to use those) installed on all the Media directors individually. Hope that helps. Cheers.

Ticket number 0003425

The more info we can give them devs, hopefully it will be easier for them to fix the issue. Cheers.

Users / Re: Are there any themes for LinuxMCE available?
« on: May 15, 2007, 06:57:50 pm »
It would be great to see some new themes. If i remember correctly there was a post on the pluto forums that they were planning on releasing a better skinning app. I am a horrible artist, but if there are any artists out there willing to take on the project i think that would be wonderful!! Let us know how the progress goes. Cheers.

There are a quite a few of us who are having similar issues with wide screen monitors. It seems that xine is not automatically changing the aspect ratio for letterbox or anamorphic DVDs the way it should. I have logged a bug report over on the pluto mantis tracker. Please add your setup and info as well so the developers have as much information as possible to fix the issue. Cheers.

That new machine looks nice let me know how it works for you. As for the widescreen dvd issue, i have made a bug report on the pluto tracker. Can you possibly add your grafix card/setup etc from your current machine to the bug report as well so that they can more easily resolve the issue.

On a side note, i tried using the stretch mode on my Z2 but since it is already recieving a 720p signal the mode screen mode cannot be changed. Hmm, maybe this has been changed in the newer models. Cheers.

Users / Re: are there some suggestions for MD/Orbiter for a newbie
« on: May 03, 2007, 03:04:31 am »
Are you actually able to turn on/off change music etc through an orbiter? I can succesfully connect to the slimserver and i can browse all of my audio that is stored on the core, but from what i have read that is as far as roku support has gone. When i tried to turn on music using an orbiter it just tells me that it is unable to complete the operation.

The roku is a great piece of hardware, right now it cannot be controlled via orbiter thought just so you know. You can browse all of your music files with the remote and listen to internet radio, but there is no control at this time through pluto.

This would be a great feature, i agree. For now you can install mythgames and add it to the external applications page to access it. A real games section would be fantastic though.
