Thanks for the answer.
Thre seem to be a problem with the modelines generated by LMCE, each time I use them my screen goes black. If I swich to generic modes in xorg.conf (1024x768) my screen is readable again. This also is the case of the 640x480 modeline in xorg.conf.pluto.avwizard. It is therefore impossible to run the AVWizard. I have tried to cange xorg.conf.pluto.avwizard manually, but it seems to generate again. My linux knowledge is rather limited so I am stuck. Any ideas?

My TV is a Sony 50" projector LCD wich is connected with VGA (and also DVI to HDMI if I want) to av nvidia 6800 LE.

Hi

Installed RC1 successfully as a hybrid, but during the installation I chose UI2 with masking (which shouldt work). There must be some kind of problem with this because the orbiter (on-screen) never show up. Just some flashes of OpenGL frame and then nothing.

I therefore wanted to try UI1, but cannot find a way to switch! In beta2 there used to a field in the Launch Manager or in Web admin, but they are gone. I feel very stupid, must have overlooked something.

Sorry, a a couple of days away (vacation :-)).

FYI:
OK I have installed the SONOS system and I run the music from the LMCE (as a NAS with samba) and it works well. Of course I can not control it from LMCE but I had to offer that to please my wife..... Her patience to the linux-system is rather non-existing for the time beeing. When I get time I will try out the web controller. It would be great to control this through an orbiter.

Are you running UI2? I have experienced the same problem when I try UI2, but with UI1 I got it up and running. (And I am trying to find out why)

Here is the section of xorg.conf.
The modeline @60 all work, but the 1024x768 at the bottom results in a black screen or sometimes a distorted 1280x1024 view on my lcd tv. This was automatically generated by the script.

Section "Monitor"
    Identifier     "Generic Monitor"
    vendorname "Generic"
    modelname "1024x768 @ 60 Hz"

Hi

I get the same message as you describe. If I answer 'Yes' and restart X, I only get a black screen (no sync on the screen/tv). I discovered that LMCE during the script has added a Modeline in xorg.conf that do not work. If I replace it with my "old" Modeline (I am for the moment running 1024x768 on vga-input to my Sony HD-Ready LCD TV) I get X up again. But the next time I start LMCE the message with XvmcusesTestures and so on shows up again. If I anwer 'No' it seems like LMCE goes into an endless loop. The UI1 works OK, but it is to ugly to use. Is this LMCE or a nvidia-driver problem?

BTW, I am now using an AGP nvidia 6800LE videocard with the nvidia-driver (not nv) and LMCE 1.1 beta 2.

It's driving me crazy, and if I continue I'll soon end up divorced ;-)

Any suggestions to a linux noob?

Thomas
