Feature requests & roadmap / New Feature request
« on: December 12, 2007, 06:20:09 pm »
I would like the ability to add chapters and bookmarks to play lists.

I have some videos of concerts and other music videos that I would like to view individual chapters(songs) from a play-list.

I have looked at the playlistentries table and the bookmarks table. It looks like most of the fields are available.

If someone points me in the right direction I would be happy to try doing this myself. (Not sure if I could but happy to try)

Users / Remote assistance feature
« on: November 16, 2007, 09:00:32 pm »
Can someone explain what remote assistance enables. Does it just set up access to ssh in or does it do more.

What can one do over the web as far as controlling linuxmce is just the wap capabilities provided in the mobile orbiter or is there more.

Thanks

Installation issues / lircd.conf does not get updated
« on: November 15, 2007, 05:44:53 pm »
I have just received my USB-UIRT and I am having some issues. LinuxMce detects it and installs USBIRT038 and a mce remote.
I do not have a MCE remote so I try to add a happauge using lircdhappauge.conf  but no matter what it does not update /etc/lircd.conf
I have manually updated lircd.conf and made sure /etc/lirc/hardware.conf  points to /etc/lircd.conf for its configuartion file. I also updated /etc/lirc/ircd.conf but when i run /etc/initd/lirc start I get a message that lirc is not configured. ???

any thoughts.

« on: November 13, 2007, 06:55:14 pm »
I am trying to create a template for the Olevia 232 LCD hari suggested I review the template PLasma rs232 for Idea's.
After reviewing the template I decided to just modify the hex codes in the ruby commands.

Here are the hex codes supplied by olevia.

As a simple test
Example
Power off
SendCmd("\xBE\x05\x27\x00\xEA")

Send command to device   ( I did not see power off in the drop down so added the same command to several others in the drop down)
Send command to device yields

I stumble onto TestSerialPort   in one of pnp scripts and tried
./TestSerialPort  -p /dev/ttyS1 -P N81 -t \xBE\x05\x90\x03\x54 -b 115200
And did at one point get a reply back. so I think my  custom cable Is correct (mini din 8 pin m to db9f)
Am I on the right track or way off base
I am simply trying to see if the tv is accepting the off signal.

Thanks

Developers / RS232 controllable TV ?? Olevia 32" LCD
« on: November 08, 2007, 05:38:30 pm »
I have a Olevia 32" LCD which has rs232c port mini-din 8 pins.

There are discrete codes available www.olevia.com/rs232/rs232.aspx I have the 232
So in theory this Tv should be able to be integrated into LinuxMCe right??   ;)

So here are my questions.

1. Cable - db9 serial to min d9in8 - strait thru or null modem ??
2. Is there a template for one of the  supported TV's that can be modified with Olevia codes. If so where and how can I edit it.
3. Proper mode line to get 1360x768 @60hz right now 1280x720 (Does not fill screen)

any help would be greatly appreciated.

Users / No Sound when playing cd from juke box
« on: October 28, 2007, 11:01:15 pm »
No Sound when playing cd from juke box, DVD play fine. You can see the progress timer working when playing cd's .
It works fine from core/hybrid  where the juke box is connected, but I have two MD that I have tested both seem to play but have no sound. Again DVD at MD stored in the juke box work fine, CD's ripped to cores HD play fine but No Sound when playing cd from juke box. (Sony viao)

any suggestions

Developers / Next Version??
« on: October 24, 2007, 03:58:53 pm »
I have just installed mythbuntu 7.10 on the hd of one of my media directors. It seems to support some of equipment a lot better, can we expect those  changes in LinuxMce 7.10
Things noticed so far:
Better scanning and channel identification for my HdHomeRun.
More remotes available by select from list.
Supported my streamzap remote simply by selecting it from the list.

P.S.
Is there a release schedule and feature list available anywhere?

Thanks
