LinuxMCE / Users / Re: Anyone recording HD MythTV to a network share?

Im sure its ok to use a network share, but the type of share matter. Some cheap NAS' are _REALLY_ slow. I tried some product which boasted gigabit interface, yet could never do more than 20MBit! 20Mbit would be much too low for HD.

LinuxMCE / Users / Cheap-ish home automation

This swedish company has a USB-stick developed that allows interfacing to several brands of cheap remote controlled home automation devices, google for "tellstick" to find it.
This would be a neat thing for lmce, imo. I think z-wave and friends might be "too much" for some.

I have not seen any ref to anyone actually developing a j2me orbiter, so I should you should just go ahead and do it!
Sounds like a great idea, I would most likely use it. I wonder how capable j2me is though in the multimedia department... I guess with modern phones it shouldn't be a problem.

Not to belittle Zaercs work, but I have to disagree with the others: I don't think he is fit as an admin. Why? Because he seems to be a drama queen!
Now why the f*ck did you need to rehash this small, insignificant bullshit issue over and over? Ever heard of "letting go" ? Did the world end because of the particular admins' behaviour? No. Unselfishness, ability to forgive others, ability to actually acknowledge that people are never ever perfect beings are very important when being an admin. You are going to meet people having trouble cooperating with anybody, and you should be able to deal with it a bit more gracefully than in this case.
How would I have handled the situation, or seen someone else handle it? Firstly, not to start a semi-flamewar on the forum over this issue. Secondly, to move the damn text to the talk-page! Now it might sound like I think you should do nothing in a situation like this, thats wrong. I just don't think the forum is the right venue, and the proper tone wasn't used. I mean, read his first post in this thread? Does it sound nuanced? Like he has any understanding for the admins' behavioir at all?
Now this is _only_ impressions from this thread, and reading the wiki page being discussed. I don't know much about Zaerc's other work, but I'm sure it has been fine. Sorru if I am missing something bigger behind the scenes (particulary stuff in the Wiki).
Note too that I don't necessarily think the admin did the right thing, but thats another story...

With a Wii, the first thing you do is generally to press the red button in under the battery cover at the same time as pressing the red button under the front hinge on the Wii. This connects the wiimote and from then on it will automatically be detected by the Wii.
There is also the option of bringing your wiimote to a friends place and temporarily connect it to his Wii. I think this might be done with 1+2.

I tried playing around with signal strength in ubuntu, but I was unable to get any readings even though my device supposedl supports it! Does anybody know if there is a general problem of reading signal strength in BT ?
BTW nice work on the wiimote.

I would love to see the wiimote working "properly" in linuxmce. I am going to start using either MythTV or LinuxMCE soon enough "for real", and the wiimote is really my preferred pointing device.

Oh, stupid me. I had the packages CD mounted on /mnt (I did this with beta 2 aswell!)
The installer should really check for this stupidity, like try creating /mnt/devices or whatever the required folder is before even trying to install!!
