1  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Re: New installation issues on: January 05, 2010, 10:36:12 pm
Thanks nite_man

I'll post the model number on the gateway branded Ir blaster later.  I'm trying to get this system up and running with what I have kicking around.

For what I want to to, Input to local orbiter, and pass on commands to the jobsite do you have any specific recommendations?

As far as the PPCs go, I was under the impression that it would work with bluetooth or WIFI.  Also I was under the impression that I could use a PPC or tablet computer to control the system.

Thanks!

Installation on an HP 800 Mediacenter PC. I am replacing the components from the HP in order to build a functioning core/hybrid for testing purposes.

Currently I have it benched and operational to the MCE desktop and access through the mce-admin page.

Initial problems to work through.

Myth TV - Currently I have installed a Leadtek Winfast 20 BT878 TV card that the system recognizes.

However I can't seem to get my head around the configuration.  For the purpose of my testing the cable TV feed is a simple Comcast RG6 supplying non HD channels.  While I can get into the Myth TV main menu, and the card seems to be recognized I can't seem to get it to scan for channels.

While this will be nice to have working I expect to control a Comcast receiver or Direct TV box for most of my installations.

IR-Control

This is a very important part of the installation for me as I expect to use the MCE core to control all of the other devices in a typical installation.

Unfortunately what I have currently doesn't seem to be working.  I have a number of Gateway branded IR blasters with three outputs.  The circuit board is stamped with Mitsumi 25-2139A. My intention will be to feed IR output into a Jobsite IR-CB2 or similar to control a large number of devices.

Orbiters
I have 2 Pocket PCs that I would like to get working.  With 802.11 as well as bluetooth.  I also would like to get a tablet PC working.

On the PPC's I have installed .Net but cannot DL the cab files.  I also get a file size 0 on the .msi install file for the tablet PC.

Thanks!

Anyone have experience with this card?

This should take a video feed straight from a Comcast cable box.
5  LinuxMCE / Installation issues / Dual TV Tuners and or HDMI Input? on: April 01, 2007, 08:10:51 pm
I'm getting parts together to build my test set and I was wondering:

What card I should use to capture HDMI output From my comcast box to my LMCE computer.

Can i set up an HDMI input and a 'normal'  (75 Ohm) cable TV card on the box.  The idea being to watch one program while the LMCE records  another.

Is there a card that will capture HDMI and display DVI at the same time?

Thanks.
