During the installation of LinuceMCE I get this error Package pluto-orbiter failed (/tmp/tmp.gUvug24519...
It seems that the installation hung, should i restart it?

what I don't understand is if i can get my ati 9600 linux drivers working fine with xgl why can't I get it to handle the advanced UI on MCE?

the interface loads up and it is moving incredibly slow, my video card should be able to handle the UI2 without transparency, i got the ati fglrx driver installed and loaded properly I even tested glxgears. Maybe I will copy my xorg.conf over or something.

it is easy if u have the perfect hardware, I for one plan on buying hardware specifically for using linux mce once it works properly.

I was reading that myth tv supports capturing from firewire and hd cable boxes with firewire available. I was wondering how this would be implemented into LinuxMCE, I am willing to help out.

look at the mythtv website and see if the tuner is supported in myth tv, that should give you a good idea if it will be supported by linuxmce

why are you burning the .deb file? throw it on a pen drive or something then just double click it and it will install the mce install program, once u install the deb file u get a desktop icon saying install linuxmce

im trying to commendeer my dads computer for this, that way i have something that i can throw my tv tuner card in because with my laptop the only way i was going to use LinuxMCE is if i could get firewire capture from my hd box.

eww i got it working without the transparency ... so slow on that computer, i need to try and fix the video settings in ubuntu

I am currently trying to change the vesa drivers to the ati ones, then i am going to see if that fixes the problem, i made a post about reconfiguring linuxmce I will see if there is a response
