Installation issues / Re: Orbiter failed to setup transparency?
« on: March 25, 2007, 01:32:50 am »
It set up the vesa driver even though I already had the nvidia module installed on the box.  I'm stuck at 'Orbiter failed to setup the transparency' also for now.  The web interface is working and I've changed the driver from vesa to nvidia though, so if someone figures out the transparency problem, I think I can get it working.

FAR too long to wait!  I'm playing with the old .iso and I think it's gonna work.

It's breaking because the installer alters /etc/apt/sources.list, which causes a dependency failure for vim.  I believe if people install vim first, it will work with the .iso from the torrent on pirate bay.

Installation issues / Re: E: Couldn't find package pluto-dcerouter
« on: March 24, 2007, 08:12:29 am »
I ran into the same problem and am working on it at the moment.  It seems that pluto likes to change your /etc/apt/sources.list file.  Once it's made the change, it tries to install vim and fails because (i think) it has removed the backports repositories from sources.list.  I've changed sources.list back to normal and have installed vim and am retrying the linux MCE install.

OK, i can't verify this second that it's gonna work, but it's installing MUCH more than it did the first time and is acting like it's gonna work.

Install vim and then install MCE.

Well I'm sure you know that we're all freaking out with anticipation at the moment, so no pressure :)

I wish I wasn't such an avid digg reader.  If I hadn't caught the post, I'd be blissfully ignorant right now instead of mildly peeved about the injustice of it all :)

I wanna download this and try it bad!  Why don't you open a sourceforge account and put it up there so that people can at least download it.  You won't even have to seed a torrent that way.
