in the pluto admin site, check both the size/width/height settings for the orbiter, adn for the parent device of the orbiter (the md or hybrid), and then try a full regen of that orbiter (wizard/devices/orbiter).

What do you see in the log /var/log/pluto/24*...

Note CPIP: Closing connection to 24 (Router Dev #0) 0x85fddc8 m_Socket: -1 <0x7bb32ba0>

that means device 24 has stopped responding.

in the a/v wizard you have 3 ui options. ui1, ui2 with masking, and ui2 with alpha blending.  choose the middle one or the first unless you have nvidia.

They should all be there.  You know mysql?  If so, in the pluto_main database, MediaType table is the known extensions.  And in pluto_media, File table are all the files it scanned and what types it thinks they are.

Can you ssh in from another console and try running and posting the commands when you try to do a rip?

you don't need multiple servers, md's can stream.  However the pvr questions are better answered by myth.

x10 should work.  ip cams will work if there's a url to retrieve the current frame.  no support for blackberry or razor.  The dell should work as a diskless md.  Don't know about the mac.  The pocket pc will work, although the pda skin in lmce is broken in a few places.

You may want to look at the docs for "motion", and read the conf files.  Most of what lmce does adding devices in lmce is really in the end auto-configuring the motion conf files.

Do you have an nVidia based system?  One thing I really want to do is eliminate the need to run 2 X sessions.  The only reason we're doing it is because the window manager in 6.10 doesn't support compositing, nor wmctrl control.  If that's resolved in Feisty, it will make the lmce + ubuntu integration much better.

Users / Re: Getting Media From Windows Shares
« on: April 03, 2007, 06:26:19 am »
I guess this isn't working because you're using the external nic card.  But normally, with an internal nic, what you get in the device tree is a "File Server", which represents the PC itself that shares the files, and underneath that another device of the template "Generic Windows Share" for each share on the file server that is mounted.  This "Share" (not the server) is what's actually mounted.  If you leave the password blank for the share, it will try the password for the parent device (the server), as well as no password.  When it detects shares automatically with the scanner, this is the device structure as I recall.

in the admin site, advanced, configuration devices.  find the disk drive (normally core / the core hybrid / orbiter / disk drive) and there's the name of the drive (like /dev/cdrom)

see the tech support link on the home page, and watch for me on yahoo/skype.  i want to try to get to the bottom of this.

that's normal.  there isn't one.

i'm on yahoo/skype a lot (see the link on the home page).  I really want to get the bottom of this issue and patch it, so if somebody can show it when they find me online, that would be great.

Installation issues / Re: Does anyone have ATI + UI2 working?

I've seen ui2 work on ati before with ati's proprietary driver, as long as you choose masking and not alpha blending.
