Tanks for the quick reply!

Yes they won`t show any media, besides the radio scenario does.

In the web admin i can see my old "hd device" under configuration - devices. it has the number 31. but it is not registered. should it be?
There is a device with the number 32 that is called disk drive. never have seen that before or better realized that before.

How can i let the old device register?
delete and readd?

I can search for all the media with orbiter and play it using the search option.
But i cannot just click a scenario and choose which file or track i wanne play.

that device seems to be online. i can see that it is mounted on /home/user/public/data/...
or where can i bring it online?

Users / Orbiter shows no entries after update [solved]
« on: August 14, 2015, 12:22:23 pm »
Hello,

after upgrading to Version: 2.0.0.46.15081231061 yesterday, orbiters won`t show any entry.
I tried sorting by different attributes like filename, performer etc. but there is just a black background where normally i can find the track name.
It seems to affect every media type besides radio.

I tried to reload and regen all orbiters but without any luck.
I also resynced the media in the linuxmce webadmin.
I can search for media with the search option via an orbiter and add it to the playlist.
if i try to click for example the album name to add it, there is only black void.

First i thought it would just be the new qorbiter but then i noticed that every orbiter is affected.

Did somebody encounter this problem before?

Is there something i can do, besides restoring the backup?  :)

Would deleting every orbiter and recreating it be an alternative?

Doing the apt-get update i noticed that it cannot resolve debian.slimdevices.com.
After a quick google i found that it is not longer maintained. (http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?103885-Upcoming-changes-to-download-sites-bye-bye-Debian-and-yum-repos).
So can i just delete this entry from the sources.list and manually update if needed?

To update the system i am doing an apt-get dist-upgrade.

I am using LinuxMce 12.04.

Thank You all!

Thanks for the hint.

i tried the --live, --threshold and --audio_queue=60 --video_queue=60 options, but i am afraid with no result.
the live version seems promissing because the player won`t stop, but it does not show video or audio either.

the strange thing is, playing radio works great...

i bought a class10 sd-card and thought yeaahh hey ho lets go, because the boot process was really quick but it didn`t do anything good to my problem.

only error in the log file (with every method):

should i post the whole log?

i tried to check the network between dcerouter and raspberry with iperf, but that seems to be okay:

Do You have any other hint, something else that i can check?

sorry for the late reply.

today i have tried a few things again.

i can play the file, if it is locally stored on the sdcard with this command:

Code: [Select]
/usr/bin/omxplayer -ohdmi -r --no-keys -l00:00:00 Film.mp4
seems to be the same command, when trying it via an orbiter.

i can copy the file from /home/public/data/... to the raspberry.

This is the output starting the film with the same command from the network source not locally:

Code: [Select]
/usr/bin/omxplayer -ohdmi -r --no-keys -l00:00:00 /home/public/data/videos/0\,00\ TB\ \(sda1\)\ ST2000DM001-1CH\ \[31\]/Film.mp4

have a nice day ;)

Some times it starts to play for 1 or 2 seconds but then it stops.

i unplugged another working mediadirector and put the networkcable into the raspberry.
so normally it cannot be the cable or does this confuse the system somehow?

If You need any further information, log or if i can do something else, i would be glad to help!

Hello,

thanks for all the work! Using a raspberry as a media director is a great possibility.

I finally got one myself (Raspberry pi model 2 B)  and i installed Linuxmce according to the wiki.

I used the recommended raspbian image.

The installation went smooth. I can see the the UI1 and the screen saver works.

But i cannot play a video or an audio track.

I only get a black screen with a mouse cursor if i want to play a video.

I sshd into the raspberry and copied a file to the local sdcard.
Playing it manually with the omxplayer seems to work.

I looked at the processes when playing it per orbiter and i saw two omxplayer.

Code: [Select]
root@raspbian:~# ps aux | grep player
root 14893 0.3 0.2 2756 2348 pts/9 S+ 17:22 0:00 /bin/bash /usr/bin/omxplayer -ohdmi -r --no-keys -l00:00:00 /home/public/data/videos/0,00 TB (sda1) ST2000DM001-1CH [31]/TV/Film.mp4
root 14903 1.0 0.8 81208 7596 pts/9 Dl+ 17:22 0:00 /usr/bin/omxplayer.bin -ohdmi -r --no-keys -l00:00:00 /home/public/data/videos/0,00 TB (sda1) ST2000DM001-1CH [31]/TV/Film.mp4
root 15063 0.0 0.0 1984 456 pts/12 S+ 17:22 0:00 grep player

First i thought that maybe my sdcard or network is to slow. But now i don`t think this is the problem.

I choosed MD when asked, not qMD. Was that all right?

I tried also with the ubuntu image, but i couldnot play video/audio either and switched to the raspbian.

I am using Linuxmce 12.04. I think the version is: 2.0.0.46.15060130767 (shown in the Loginscreen of the webmin)
I did a dist-upgrade yesterday on the core and tried one on the raspberry but it only wanted to update one package, so i didn`t update.

Is there something i did wrong?

Again thanks for the effort. That would be the perfect MD!

p.s. will vdr (client) be possible with the ubuntu version? I think i saw the TV button on the UI1....

Hello,

due to not stopping a vdr record or something like that my disk went out of space.
After a reboot, ssh into the core and cleaning up space, i can reboot, but DCERouter won `t start.
everything else seems to start normal.
i can even log into the webadmin.

I am looking into the log messages, but i cannot find much.
if i kill the DCERouter process and try starting Spawn_DCERouter manually at the terminal, i see this:

I don`t know if this is saying anything about the missing DCERouter, or if it is just because i am starting it manually.

Is there maybe an abandoned lockfile somewhere?

Is there anything i can do?

Really would be very thankfull for any hint!

Ahhrgg did not see this coming ...  :)

Thanks a lot!

Changing back to port 2001 did it.

I then had some problems with the other mds (black screen).
After viewing the config and not having any clue what was wrong i finally saw that i don`t have an init file for vdr on the mds.
Now i am using the one from the core.
hmm, strange. maybe i messed somethings or a lot of things up by changing from mythtv to vdr or did some other stupid things ...
I hope this way is okay.

So thanks again and

solved :)

hy,

hmm, i have both packages installed.

hybrid:
pluto-vdr Installiert: 2.0.0.46.14081629241
pluto-vdr-plugin Installiert: 2.0.0.46.14101229547

on the md there is just pluto-vdr installed.

I reinstalled pluto-vdr-plugin cause it was not properly installed, deleted the nova-td devices and rebooted...
still nothing.

here is my /etc/default/vdr config:
Code: [Select]
# Change to 1 to enable vdr's init-script
ENABLED=1

# Change this to 1 if you want vdr to be able to shutdown the
# computer
ENABLE_SHUTDOWN=0

# Options that will be passed to vdr's commandline
# for example: OPTIONS="-w 15"
OPTIONS="-w 60"
SVDRP_PORT=6419
VDR_CHARSET_OVERRIDE=UTF-8

I think i messed a little bit with the SVDRP_PORT because vdradmin wouldn`t connect.
Is it okay?

Users / [solved] VDR Problem
« on: November 30, 2014, 03:52:49 pm »
Hello,

I am trying to get vdr working on my 12.04 installation.

I switched from mythtv to vdr via the setup wizard.
Whenever i choose TV on any weborbiter the screen(saver) just freezes, but there is no tv.

I can see the remotecontrol on the weborbiter.
I got the streamdev-plugin and vdradmin working.
I even can watch TV when I call vdr-sxfe on the commandline.

My TV-usb-dongle is:

Code: [Select]
15a4:9016 Afatech Technologies, Inc. AF9015 DVB-T USB2.0 stick
I downloaded the firmware and it seems that it is working.
But the dongle  isn`t recognized as a device in linuxmce.

The other dvb-t dongle i tried was a WinTV-Nova-TD dual tuner. But i had problems with i2c read/write errors and it got added multiple times as a device in linuxmce.
(Didn`t delete them until now but i removed the dongle from the hybrid.)

I realized that the lmcevdr package is not installed. And if i try, i get this error message:

Code: [Select]
lmcevdr lässt sich nicht installieren:
Authentifizierungswarnung überstimmt.
dpkg: Fehler beim Bearbeiten von /var/cache/apt/archives/lmcevdr_1.1-10_all.deb (--unpack):

 /var/cache/apt/archives/lmcevdr_1.1-10_all.deb
E: Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned an error code (1)

Do i need this package?

This is the shortened output of /var/log/pluto/169_VDR.log:

Does anybody know where to go from here?
Would be grateful for any hint!

As said before:
Great project! Great work!

hmmm,
i am afraid You are right. But i am really not that deep into ubuntu to even guess.
hopefully i didn`t post a "format c:"  :o if, then i am really sorry!
the update worked for me and i am not experiencing any troubles (until now).
so:
Code: [Select]
dpkg-divert --package dash --divert /bin/sh.distrib --add /bin/shthis means that everything that wants to install /bin/sh is redirected to /bin/sh.distrib? The only exception is the package dash?
At my computer /bin/sh is still linked to bash and /bin/sh.distrib is also a link to bash.
I checked if i have substituted dash with bash back then, but as my bash history tells me, it doesn`t seem so.
i just tried to remove the diversion and i got the error again when trying to update.
with the diversion everything is or seems to be fine....
what do You think? Or anybody else, who can bring some enlightment?

Hello,

i don`t know if You still have this problem, but I have run into the same today, wanting to update bash.
I found this and it seems that everything is okay now:

Really Great News!!!

Thank You for developping and all the work!
Can't wait to try it and  replace the noisy zotac zbox with it.

But first i have to get a newer raspberry and switch to use the 12.04 installation.
