Thanks Raymond
I am using 12.04
I tried the instructions on the link you provided but I'm a little confused.

Here is the zwave log in case it gives some clues:

Ok, so I went to the micasaverde forums and found some instructions saying to press the reset button on the dongle with a paperclip for 3-5 seconds. I did and nothing happened, no lightsor anything indicating success. I plugged it back on my core and still get the same thing.

Recognizes the dongle,it says something about adding zwave device, then something about Pluto vdr (not sure why this shows). The starting device and finally says it failed to start device and something is wrong.

Is there a way to tell if the dongle still has devices in it?

Thanks

Does anyone know how I can reset the z-stick to factory defaults? I searched on the manufacturers site but all I could find said I had to use the host software to reset it.

http://www.smarthome-products.com/productspecs/AeonLabZ-StickS2.pdf

I used to have 2 zwave devices on my network but they got danaged and I no longer have them and don't know how to remove them without having the devices.
When I plug the z-wave dongle on my core I see a message saying devices failed to start and I am guessing it is related to the devices on the dongle I no longer have.

Thanks

Thank you guys.
I followed your advice and re-run rhw AV Wizard, selected HDMI, chose the middle option not the UI2 w/alpha blending and selecteda 720 resolution and rebooted, unplugged the VGA and switch my TV's input to HDMI and it came up ok this time and with sound.

You Rock!!!!!

Thanks again.

Installation issues / [Solved] No graphics on hdmi
« on: March 30, 2014, 05:34:41 pm »
Hi guys
I installed the 3-25 snapshot last night while connected to vga. While in the A/V Wizard I selected HDMI for both video and audio with UI2. The problem I am having is that if I boot using HDMI, the PC boots to a terminal requesting DCERouter Login, ig I boot using VGA,the system boots up as it should but I get no sould.

Has anyone else experienced this?
How can I invoke the A/V wizard again so I can test different settings? I have an NVIDIA card so I was thinking it would be compatible but that is just a guess.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Thank you Posde.
I chatted with Thom last night and he gave the same idea to use the Panasonic template as a starting point.
I had already tried the motion wrapper with no success.

I did some research on this camera last night and found that is is made by a company called ReeCam in China.

Found some information on CGI calls to the camera on this site:

http://wiki.reecam.cn/CGI/Overview?setlang=en

and some other info on the main site http://wiki.reecam.cn/

I am a networking guy and not a programmer at all so this is going to take me some time to figure out but I am willing to give it a try as I would like to learn how to make templates so I can add some other devices.

Meanwhile, if someone with the know how would like to also give it a try, and/or guide me through it let me know and I would be willing to purchase another camera and send it to you.

Thanks

I just purchased 2 Insteon 75790 IP cameras and am looking for suggestions as to what the best way to control them might be. I really didn't think about it when I ordered them and now that I am trying to install them I am not sure what the best way would be.
Basically these are wired or wireless (I would use Wired with POE), use DHCP or static IP and are accessible through a web browser. Features are 300 degreePan and 120 degree tilt, motion sensor and IR LEDs, also have 2 way audio allowing you to listen to audio but also allows you to remotely speak through it.

Ideas/suggestions?
Would I need to give up on any of these features? would I need to have an insteon controller of some sort?

Thanks

Are you familiar with GNS3 crowdfunding they just did this past week? they raised over $300K from contributions from users and I really liked the way they structured things. Basically they had a list of goals and said how much they needed to raise to accomplish each of those goals. They aimed for $35K and ended up raising almost ten times more.
I participated with $75 and as a novice Linuxmce user, I would definitely donate $100-$200 to help improve the product. I have donated in the past for developers to purchase some test equipment and would gladly donate again.

Maybe a similar approach to what GNS3 has done to raise funds might work for Linuxmce as well. Just a thought.

I was wondering if anyone is using this tv with their Linuxmce system and how it is setup.
I have this tv which comes with a qwerty remote/keyboard that I would love to be able to use with lmce because of the pointer (similar to gyration remotes) and the keyboard in the back as well as voice control and wanted to see if anyone else has this tv and how they are using it with their system.

Installation issues / Re: Best download location

Thank you so much.... I downloaded the ISO from LennyB's mirror at work. This time I used the md5 file to verify the files before burning to a DVD and it matched so I burnt the ISO and installed it when I got home. It worked perfectly so I guess the problem is somewhere in my internet connection at home (I am suspecting my netgear router).

kudos to all the people that has worked so hard in this project. The 10.04 install was awesome and much cleaner than last install I did back in 8.10 many months ago when I had to install Kubuntu 1st and then launch the lmce installer from there.

I have no idea what I am doing when it comes to Linux so having an installer as straight forward as this one was a big help.

Thanks again

Thanks for all your comments.

LennyB thank you very much for the link. I downloaded from your mirror and burned to DVD again at the lowest speed available and still had problems. I have never used the MD5 files to verify the download so I decided to do that this morning and the MD5 on my downloaded file does not match the file on your server so I suspect something is happening during the download. All the files I've worked with were downloaded from the same computer at my house and the download has been taking roughly 1.5 hrs which I thought was too low since in the past it has taken a lot longer. I am going to download it at work today and check the files again to see if it makes a difference and I will post again to let you know how it goes.

Thanks again everyone.

is http://linuxmce.iptp.org/snapshots/ the best place to get the latest builds of lmce? I have downloaded it twice, burnt to a DVD at different speeds but half way thru the install it fails saying my that either the image I am using is bad or my hard drive is faulty (can't remember the exact verbiage). I have tried it on two different hard drives, 2 different PCs, and 2 different dvds burnt at low speeds.

Thanks

Does anyone have any comments about the Honeywell zwave thermostat on the following link?
http://m.lowes.com/mt/www.lowes.com/pd_370567-74493-YTH8320ZW1007_?PL=1&productId=3501124

I am replacing my ac/heat pump system and would like to go ahead and install a zwave thermostat to incorporate to my linuxmce installation.

By looking at the posts I can't find where anyone has used this device. It the wayne dalton thermostat listed appears to have been discontinued so in looking for a replacement I came across the link above.
Any comments or recommendations?

Thanks
