I have the same problem with some of my A/V equipment when using CFL's. I have been using them for about three years now and it has been an ongoing battle. One thing that seems to work for me is to not allow a direct line of sight between the CFL and the IR receiver. Maybe you can shield the USBUIRT somehow.
I have not received any notifications to monitored mantis items even though I know one was updated last week. I was also missing the top left LinuxMCE icon last week but it is back now. Currently the only icon that seems to be missing is the Chat icon.
My first system user was a single word ie "Justin" so I created a second user ie "James O". When I connected to DCERouter from windows and logged in using the user "Justin" I seen a share listed as "JamesO" not "James O". So it seems that passwords can have spaces in them but not users.
I have done some testing with users and it seems that if you use a name with a space like “Joseph Young” the user name will actually be stored as “JosephYoung” and the password will be stored with a space in it.
Try username “JosephYoung” with no space and password “Joseph Young” with a space and see how you go.
Network Interface Controller determines whether the integrated network adapter is On, Off, or On w/ MBA. The default is On. If you select On w/ MBA, you are prompted to press <Ctrl><Alt><b> at the Dell logo screen during computer boot. A menu then appears that allows you to select PXE, RPL, BootP, or NetWare as the active boot mode.
Quick Install DVD This installs both Kubuntu and LinuxMCE at the same time in 20 minutes with only 3 keystrokes. You pick the hard drive you want it to install onto, and it will partition it, format it, install everything with default options, and set your location and regional settings using an IP2Location service. The DVD installer essentially takes a pre-installed image and copies it to the hard drive. This is why it is so fast and easy. But you also don't have low-level control over the installation process. Note: this installer will erase all existing data from the selected hard drive. The DVD Installation page contains a walkthrough of this installer
I am new to Linux and LinuxMCE and thought it was made fairly clear in the download instructions.
Whether it works for you depends on how deep your renovation is going.
I am building in underneath my house and also replacing the cladding and roof so it should be relatively easy to install the required cabling. Being an electrician with an IT background will also help with the programming and getting the C-Bus modules at wholesale price.
I received updated pricing from Smart Security Pty Ltd in Brisbane and their revised price for 5 or more remotes is $235.00 with a delivery time of around 10 days. I have only heard back from one other Australian company who does not currently import the remote.
