Thom,
I wish there was more that I could do than to say I am sorry for your loss or impending loss.

Installation issues / Re: Ultimate Goal of LinuxMCE
« on: July 22, 2011, 09:52:22 pm »
Like anything, bite off what you can chew and nibble on the rest.  LinuxMCE is not easy but it is rewarding.  I am admittedly a bad citizen of the community but I do what I can and I enjoy being a part of it even if I lack a contribution.  I am hoping someday to be able to do that.  The developers KNOW the path they want to take and they know the difficulty first hand.  Really, do they need someone to tell them?  I don't think so.  In the past few months I have seen more things working and more fascinating stuff coming from the devs than in a couple of years.  Don't take that as a negative it just takes a tremendous amount of time and I as a "Bad" citizen can understand that.  I don't think they have a nice LMCE office with secretaries, coffee and danish that the devs hang out at just wasting time and collecting a paycheck.  I mean these guys "love" LMCE with a passion and probably spend most of any free time they have with development, squashing bugs and documentation.  All of this for essentially nothing but the joy and gratification that comes from creating a piece of art, LMCE.  Well that was my two cents.  To the developers, Thom, Golgoj4, Hari, Andrew and everyone.  Thanks.

Don't know if this helps but I had a similar problem once and found that another device had the same IP as my 7970.  In my case it was a panasonic web cam.  I changed the ip on the webcam and the phone started working.

Installation issues / Re: HDMI Via Denon A/V Receiver
« on: July 16, 2011, 02:36:52 pm »
Thanks for the help.
It is a Denon DBP-1610 blue ray player.  I am at a loss as to what is causing this to happen.  Must be something in setup or a sync. problem with HDMI on the 2311CI receiver.  I also tried another Ion N230 media director without success.  I just wonder if anyone has this setup working.

Thanks for responding, when I substitute the media director for the blueray I get video but no audio.  Checked the setup in the denon and it appears to be ok.  Tried using analog inputs and digital but no joy.  Probably cause the audio on the MD is set for hdmi.  Its all very curious.
Thanks,

Thanks for the response Pigdog,

The epson is model 8350 with two hdmi inputs.  Only one is used coming from the denon receiver.  The blueray disc is connected to one hdmi input on the denon and the blueray works great with both audio and video over hdmi.  Here is my attempt at wiring diagram.

Denon Blueray>hdmi>Blueray input:|
                                                    | Denon>hdmi>Epson 8350
            Zotac Ion >hdmi>Aux input:|

Hope this helps some

Installation issues / HDMI Via Denon A/V Receiver
« on: July 14, 2011, 12:46:39 am »
Sorry guys that I am having so many problems.  Thanks for all your help.  I have a Zotac Ion N230 that is working as a media director for a Visio TV via HDMI.  Both the audio and video seem to work ok.  I have a home theater that has a Epson Projector and a Denon 2311 A?V receiver.  I take the same MD that is working with the Visio and move it to the home theater.  The video portion works fine but there is no audio.  Again, this is using the HDMI input on the receiver.  I have tried several different inputs on the receiver with no luck.  Video good but no audio.  Alsamixer is fine and I can take the media director and plug the hdmi cable back into the visio and both audio and video work.  Is there a problem with audio via hdmi and the Denon 2311?  Any help will be appreciated.

I have my LMCE system in a equipment room upstairs.  About 6 feet from the dongle is a dimmable lamp module think it is 14.  I then have another lamp module that is dimmable downstairs about 20 feet away and four other modules on and off type switches in the same receptacle that control outdoor lighting.  These are another 20 feet away from the lamp module that is downstairs.  The HA 07 is able to turn all of these modules on and off when placed next to the dongle.  Hope this helps.

Installation issues / No Z-Wave Control
« on: July 12, 2011, 01:49:17 am »
Hi  all,  I have a linuxmce 8.10 system with a Intermatic HA-22 usb controller and a HA-07 remote.  I am able to control lighting with the controller without any problems.  I am able to copy the network settings into LMCE and the lighting arrangement is on the device tree.  I have 6 lighting controls and they all show up.  Also on the device tree there is 8 Z-Wave controllers listed also.  I try to control the lighting and nothing happens.  The lighting modules will not respond to any commands issued from the admin page or anywhere.  The HA 07 controller works just fine.  Am I missing something here?
Thanks,
Randy

Thanks for the suggestions.  The webcam has an option to watch 16 cams at once and my relatives who will be watching the house only have PC's.  Thought if I could just give them the link they could handle that.  I personally use the weborbiter on my ipad.  Thanks Bongowongo, i need to forward port 80 to 192.168.1.106 (Core) then how do I forward again to the webcam at 192.168.80.253?  help me I'm stupid.
