Thank you guys for your amazingly fast answers.

Removing the files in /usr/pluto/locks did the trick.

Know dcerouter is downloading stuff but it got further.

Installation issues / Orbiter not starting on Core Hybrid
« on: August 27, 2009, 05:11:23 pm »
Hi All,

I upgraded my core hybrid  3 days ago via apt-get upgrade. Since then when my core starts it stays at Loading LinuxMCE screen and just sits there for hours.

I investigated the logs and found the following in LaunchManager.log:

05      08/27/09 16:06:23.227           ^[[33;1mConnect() failed, Error Code 111 (Connection refused))^[[0m <0xb7a34b90>

I tried using the webadmin interface and i works fine, so i assume that the database access is granted.

I also tried lauching Startup_Core-Hybrid.sh manually which gives the same results.

Could you please help.

Rafik

  Hi Guys,

So far we got something that is far away further from any media center.

I feel as if we are getting to a point where it is a mater of live or die kind of thing for the project.

I think that we need to improve the project by getting some full time devs and other ressources to push over the project and see it coming live defeating some m$ and others by bringing up something that has never been done before.

I'm owning a company for few years now and even dow i've been a tight tech dreaming of an all free world for which im trying to contribute every day i thing that Tim is right about bringing some cash in to get a full time staff defined objectives to the code, marketing an evolution.

i would like to contribute to the project also, i've been involved in few project *nix driven down to systems, networking for telco operators and so but i shall admit lmce is a huge part to handle even for experienced techs engineers or else.

I have spent week end, hours to hack into the code even if i'm ain't a coder but theres too much to do at once as others said.

well, fair enough otherwise it wouldn't be what it is.

Back to thoughts we need an input somehow that would turn lmce into a company with a community release in order to get up to speed and see what we're all hoping to get alive ( we got what is needed at least ).

We need to get the industry to inject some cash at to get up to speed and manage the thing properly so the exec decisions are made for both the business and community.

We need to have a specific hw base so we wont spend time over my controller doesn't work or my mobo
is doing weird thing, in the mean time we can still support users coming to the community in order to keep them interested and spare some time trying to help out whoever is coming in as we did for some time.

We need to go to the next level even if i hate commercial stuff, i learned my way out  on FSF linux and so on, thanks to the people i've met that shown me the way but here if we want to go live with something that would kick the a** we need to be fast.

Willingto see what i've looked at and tried to help my way getting real.

All the best,

Rafik

Hi All of you,

I do agree with this tread specially that i got replies that felt like a hammer on top of my head.

I know most of you devs have great skills, i've seen a lot of videos but here there's nothing about geekness here, were all trying to get lmce further by eighter trying or developing which means getting further.

Looking at the forums i felt in the first place that asking few things make me feel like a moron and i'm not just talking for myself.

So let put things forward and always remember that new comers shall be welcomed.

I love guiness and i always live it on the side till i've finished making around with lmce.

Were all here because we've got tight to this project somehow.

All the best

 Hi Pigdog,

Check that the dhcp daemon is bound to your core interface using: netstat -anop | grep dhcp

I had the same issue many times were my md would not pxe boot because the dhcp server got reconfigured by lmce
and the dhcp range arg was missing in /etc/dhcp/dhcpd.conf

 Have a look

Rafik

Hi Posde,

No worries,

this is a dev version so those things are supposed to happen.

The fix didn't make it for me but i messed around a bit with files rights so the fix is probably not to blame.

 i'm reinstalling since.

Hey!  if you want the lastest brew you want to get what come whit it.

Anyways,

I'm checking the svn and issue nearly every day
so i might thank you for your great work.

All the best

I shall thank you for your time and great efforts.

I did the apt-get update and upgrade the latest pluto-boot-scripts got installed but mysql dhcp bind are not starting.

getting a weird permission denied as if some sort of selinux or apparmor wasn't happy with them starting.

Pigdog did this work for you ?

 I All,

Just wanted to warn you guys that todays update killed my core.

the pluto-system-database_2.0.0.44.09050521951 upgrade got interruped and after a rebootmy core
is dead all files are owned by pluto_promptmysql:pluto_promptmysql the services do not start
and lmce launch manager keeps segfaulting.

A lot of directories got created on root, they seem to be database tables names or values.

However it all dead know and silly me did not backup a thing arghhhhhhh. GUTED .....

 Hi,

I have the same here the core is dead and all the file system is owned by pluto_promptmysql
a lot of directories got created on the root fs they seem to be db tables names.

this happened by doing an apt-get update then apt-get upgrade.

first pluto-system-database install would not go trought then reboot and all dead gone bybye.

It seem like we are good for a reinstall.

I hope this get seen so today upgrades get put away till this is fixed.

Users / Lirc embedded transmit
« on: March 15, 2008, 08:28:35 pm »
 Hi All,

i have seen the new feature lirc embedded transmitter when adding a default infrared receiver (lirc based).

I could not find any info on this, please devs if you see this post could you please let us know how the embedded lirc transmit works.

since the transmitter is lirc based it does not support pronto codes ( as far as i've read ), have lirc raw codes been added to lmce ?

 Regards,

Rafik
