No, In fact I hosed my database trying to make it work yesterday by adding tables etc... bad idea.  The sql string refers to a database that doesn't exist. It's Pluto_DCE if I remember correctly. I'm sure someone here knows of a work around.

Is this working now with the latest release? I lost my bluetooth adaptor in a bar fight in malaysia and I don't want to buy a new one if I don't have to.

Thanks

Users / Re: Anyone have sound problems?
« on: August 12, 2007, 02:03:39 am »
well at some point during troubleshooting I disabled hyperthreading in the bios. Tried re-enabling it to improve performance and guess what? No sound......hmmmm. The plot thickens. I disabled it again and now sound is working again with the sound blaster live card. Still no lockups on myth. Maybe hyperthreading and the built in intel sound chip were the cause?

Any nerds out there that might know what's going on here?

I'm having sound problems. No sound period. I have an ASUS mb with built in intel  82801EB/ER (ICH5/ICH5R) AC'97 Audio Controller (rev 02). Tried compiling latest alsa drivers and that didn't work (wouldn't compile completely...etc, etc) Ended up screwing the system up a little bit, so I reinstalled the current alsa pkg. Then I recompiled and installed again. Still no go. Then.....tried installing a soundblaster live card (for the 2nd time,  i did this originally at first before upgrading drivers). Now sound works and myth is working (at least for now....)

Before going through all this I was getting sound occasionally by messing with sound setting in KDE, but myth would always lock up....randomly. Sometimes it would work for 10 min, sometimes 10 sec.

Not sure if all my myth problems have been related to the sound card drivers all along.

Any thoughts or problems from anyone else out there?

OK now I'm having this exact same problem with a computer setup as a media director.  I tried the suggested fix by commenting out the routerip= line and adding another one below it in fixMythTvSettings.sh, but that's not helping. This might sound dumb, but maybe I'm typing it wrong... do I need to use the quotes like routerip="192.168.80.1" or just routerip=192.168.80.1 ??? Also, did you change the NetowkrControlPort setting ?

Thanks

Installation issues / Regin Orbitor hanging at screen 66
« on: June 19, 2007, 06:45:03 pm »
OK, I did another clean install and everything was going great until I noticed that the myth database wasn't being filled, so I stopped media center from the control panel and ran mythfilldatabase. Everything went ok until I restarted the core. When it went to regenerate the screens for the on-screen orbiter it hung at #66. I restarted again and it did the same thing. Then I deleted the on-screen orbitor from the admin page and created a new one.....same issue. At this point I started over with a clean install....again. Any ideas about fixing this if it happens again? I'm sure there's an easier way.

Thanks

Try changing the playback settings in the frontend setup. I turned off deinterlacing and changed some other things that I can't remember...(I know that's not helpful.....but my brain is tired).

Users / How do I change network card id's?
« on: June 12, 2007, 09:26:42 pm »
OK, I hope someone can make sense of my question. I installed LMCE and set it up to use eth0 & eth1. eth0 did not want to be a team player so I installed another card which is now eth2. I used udev to rename eth2 to eth0 but that aint working. The admin page doesn't allow you to add network cards to the settings that I can tell.

Is there any way to re-run the network portion of the setup only, to configure the changes or do I have to re-install???

Peace out
