Developers / Re: GC100 v3.0 not working
« on: November 19, 2007, 04:39:22 am »
Hi gents,

I actually was able to get the gc100 manually configured and recognizing the serial port. Then, the next time I rebooted the system, it "unregistered" itself. Now, I can't get the gc100 to work. Has anyone gotten one of these new ones working? I am using the serial port with a SmartHome PowerLinc II to send ascii commands in X10 format to the modules in the house.

tnx,
phil

Installation issues / Updates broke MythTV Can't resolve deb.linuxmce.com
« on: September 27, 2007, 06:27:59 am »
I did an apt-get update and watched the resolution of deb.linuxmce.com fail.

At this point, I can view Live TV on one channel only without being able to change the channel. The resolution is horrible now and there is no guide.

Question: How do you re-run the updates if you can't resolve the site where the code is stored?

Users / Re: Windows music files copied to LinxMCE "Public" not seen

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that, and the script seems to confirm that it has added the entries into the MySQL database. But, when I reboot and launch the orbiter, the albums are not displayed.

Users / Windows music files copied to LinxMCE "Public" not seen
« on: August 19, 2007, 07:09:45 am »
I ripped all of my CD collection in Windows Media Player. I then copied all of the directories of the music to the "Audio"  folder under the "Public" directory path. I started the Launch manager and Chose "Audio" and the only music I find there, is  the one CD that I ripped in LinuxMCE. What else has to be done for the MySQL database to be updated? Is there an SQL script that could be run by hand to populate the data.

Zaerc,

Tnx, I had tried that method with another Nvidia download with no joy, but, it did successfully install, so, I cross checked the Upuntu Nvidia-glx-new driver for the version on the Nvidia site, and came up with NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-9755-pkg1.run. This did the trick for my GeForce 7350 LE. Thanks for stimulatin the brain.

I am in a catch 22. In previous installation attempts with earlier versions of LMCE, I was able to apt-get install  nvidia-glx-new and have my Nvidia card work. In this version, I get the following error when trying to install almost any programs.
"Package nvidia-glx-new is not available, but is referred to by another package.
This may mean that the package is missing, has been obsoleted, or
is only available from another source
E: Package nvidia-glx-new has no installation candidate"

I can't continue with starting LMCE while the driver in "nv" , and I can't install the driver that works.

Any assistance would be deeply appreciated.
