Users / cheapest interface for sockets/lights

Hi,.

What is the cheapest interface for controlling sockets and light wirelessly from a pc. I guess that would be x10, as it as been around for ages, and there should be a load of compatable stuff from china, but prices seem very high.

Is some other system cheaper than X10

Users / New to HA. Cheap tempreature sensor to control X10 plug

Hi,

I am new to HA, and just looking to create my first LinuxMCE system.

I want to be able to detect room temperature (there are some cheap USB temp sensors/loggers for windows) and then use this to switch on/off a X10 plug, depending on occupancy (to be sensed by the presence of a Bluetooth)

Can this be achieved with LinuxMCE
