Installation issues / Orbitor screen resolutuion on Flytouch 2
« on: July 15, 2011, 10:59:38 pm »
Hi,

I have purchased a fly touch 2 tablet to use as an orbiter. At the moment I am trying to set up the screen resolution. The resolution for the device according to this website is 1024 x 600

http://blog.wholesaleonepiece.com/black-fly-touch-3-superpad-2-android-2-2-tablet-pc/

I have chosen the 1024 x 600 resolution from the admin page and done a full regen. 1024 seems to fit well. 600 is to big. I have tried to reduce the 600 to 550 as an experiment by going to the orbitor advance screen and entering 550 for screen height and save.
when I do a full regen the settings revert back to 600.

Is there a simple way of producing an orbiter screen template with a slightly reduced screen height resolution?

Installation issues / architecture for audio files
« on: June 20, 2011, 11:12:37 pm »
Hi,

I currently have my audio tracks saved to /home/public/data/audio. I have 2 users who both can access the public audio tracks.  Where do I need to save audio tracks so that they can be viewed only by 1 user?

Users / Showtime Scenario still active after I have disabled
« on: June 04, 2011, 12:33:38 am »
Hi,

Is there a way to turn off showtime. I have gone to Webadmin / Show Devices Tree / My Scenarios / Lighting Scenarios and unticked the box for showtime.

I regen the orbitor and the Scenario has now disappeared from the orbitor screen, but still when I start a film my lights dim, and when i stop the film the lights turn up again.

Is there somewhere else I should be looking to disable this feature?

Installation issues / on screen orbitor audio level control SOLVED
« on: May 08, 2011, 07:04:10 pm »
Hi,

The +/ -/ mute volume buttons from my on screen orbitor does not seem to work when pressed.

In alsamixer my speakers are controlled by the surround bar. Master does not have any effect on volume.

My setup consists of on board sound card and 5.1 speakers.

Any ideas what needs to be done to get the volume buttons working?

Cheers

Installation issues / duwi dimmer switch
« on: March 25, 2011, 01:29:09 pm »
hi,

I am trying to install a duwi dimmer switch found here :

http://www.uk-automation.co.uk/products/Z%252dWave-Dimmer-Switch-by-Duwi.html

I have followed the installation instructions here

http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/ZWave

-I have added a child device
-template dimmer switch

I retrieved node ID from Wizard>devices>lights page under Port/Channel. THis number was 1

I have tried leaving the node as 1 with no output change

I have then tried following the instructions for adding a right hand paddle dimmer. addingin 1/2 into Port/Channel number. with No output.

My logs under /var/log/pluto/36_ZWave are:

I have managed to get green light when associating switch with usb stick so that is ok

Does anyone have any idea in what my problem might be.

Thanks

Installation issues / realtek 8168 driver issue
« on: February 03, 2011, 09:04:28 am »
Hi,

I have followed the wiki...  http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Realtek_8168.

downloaded the r8168-8.021.00.tar.bz2 file from:

http://www.realtek.com.tw/downloads/downloadsView.aspx?Langid=1&PNid=5&PFid=5&Level=5&Conn=4&DownTypeID=3&GetDown=false#RTL8111B/RTL8168B/RTL8111/RTL8168%3Cbr%3ERTL8111C/RTL8111CP/RTL8111D(L)%3Cbr%3ERTL8168C/RTL8111DP

I have checked and the file is stored in /lib/modules/2.6.27-7-generic/kernel/drivers/net/ and /lib/modules/2.6.27-17-generic/kernel/drivers/net/

also in these files are the 8169 driver and in 2.6.27.17 they are the only 2 files highlighted in bright yellow.

when I do a lshw -C Network i get:

Installation issues / Event Problem
« on: December 21, 2010, 11:50:32 pm »
Hi,

I have created an IR template for my TV. I have saved pronto code for the power on/off.
I have tested on/off and everything works fine.

I have set up an event so that, when my PIR is activated (motion detected), my Z-Wave dimmer comes on. All this works fine.
On the same events page wizard>event handler>Respond to events. I add an additional event to motion detected, of power on for my IR TV.

When I test the IR command nothing happens. Seems either a I have not activated an option or something is broken.

Anyone got any ideas on what might be happening?

thanks for your time

Daniel

Installation issues / EZmotion motion detection problem
« on: December 17, 2010, 12:25:25 pm »
Hi,

I am currently trying to set up the motion detection for the EZmotion device.

I have followed the instructions from :

http://wiki.linuxmce.com/index.php/Express_Controls_EZmotion_(HSM_100)

I am concentrating on just the motion detection at the mo.

Here is what I have done...
Advanced>config>devices...
left side of screen srcoll down the zwave
then under security I create child device
choose template for motion detector

fill in motion detector information

port/channel number I get from multi level sensor tab under security port/channel number.
capabilities = 133,96,49,112,132,128,114,119,134
floorplan type = motion detector

I then create respond to event

event = a sensor door/window/motion
device - motion detector
time of day = day

command section

light switch on/off  to send an on command (when i press test command button it works fine)
dcerouter to execute command,
then I save.

Now I can see the LED on sensor activates when i move infront of it but it does not trigger event for light to go on/off.

in logs for my z wave it says:

No callback received: await_callback: 129 timer: 31 <0xb70c4b90>
05   12/17/10 11:13:15.276      ZWave::InternalIDToDevice() No device found for id 2/2

Can anybody please help me with this problem.

thanks in advance.

Daniel

Installation issues / Device template based on IR Issues
« on: December 03, 2010, 10:11:10 pm »
Hi I am trying to make an IR template for my colour changing lights, to be used with a USB-UIRT.

Parameters used to Make of my template

This device is controlled via  Device:USB UIRT Embedded Transmit
Category: Infrared Interface

Comm Method USB

Device data
Under Current Data option I have specified - #111 Using Infrared(string)
Under Default Value option  - pronto code - On 0000 006D 0021 0002 0015 0016 0016 0041 0015 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0015 0016 0016 0016 0016 0016 0015 0041 0016 0016 0015 0041 0016 0040 0016 0041 0015 0041 0016 0016 0015 0041 0016 0040 0016 0016 0016 0016 0015 0041 0016 0040 0016 0016 0016 0016 0015 0016 0016 0016 0016 0040 0016 0041 0015 0016 0016 0016 0016 0040 0016 0041 0015 0041 0016 061D 0157 0056 0016 0E55

User Master Device List Defaults - I have ticked

Commands
I/R Receiver – to identify learn and transmit IR
IR Transmit commands – same as above
On/Off – specify power button on/off
Standard TV – specify keys 1 to 9 (same as on my remote each button represents a different colour)

I then go to
Wizard-Devices-Media Director------scroll down to the bottom and add remote---choose my template.

I then click on the template and send command to device--send on command-

I tick request delivery box and receive a message RESP: Delivery failed.

Any ideas what might be the problem?

Thanks

Installation issues / IR Command Problem
« on: November 29, 2010, 09:32:31 pm »
HI,
I am have some difficulty getting my ir operated LED lights to work with my USB UIRT device..

I have followed the instructions for adding new remote controls from the following page.

http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Add_support_for_new_remote_controls

I found the ir code in the USB UIRT logs. created a template for the command.

I dont want to have to use a remote control to operate the lights. What I would like is to have a button on my Obitor screen to press which will activate the IR command to turn lights on/off.

Does anybody know if this can be achieved and if so how to go about doing such a thing.

Thanks
Dan

Installation issues / apt-get upgrade/ not happening
« on: November 24, 2010, 10:32:48 am »
Hi,
I have just downloaded snapshot 23388 (Nov 1st) and done a fresh install.

When I try to do apt-get upgrade I get :
0 upgraded, 0 newly installed, 0 to remove and 0 not upgraded.

I have tried updating /etc/apt/preferences from 600 to 500 as per
 http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=10309.0

I have also tried changing apt-get to aptitude.

I have changed my sources.list from .archive & .security

to .old-releases.

When I try a different snapshot say Beta2 upgrades work fine.

Is anyone else having issues with 23388 snapshot? Or know what I am doing wrong.

cheers
Dan
