I had to go back and install 1004 tonight and for some reason the server failed to look up debian.slimdevices.com; not really sure if its a local error on my part, but I had to do the following for the script to run and finish successfully

add line 672 to mce-install.sh

Code: [Select]
echo "54.208.89.159 debian.slimdevices.com" >> /etc/hosts
I also added

Code: [Select]
54.208.89.159 debian.slimdevices.com
to /etc/hosts before running the script.

Users / mythtv not starting on mds
« on: March 28, 2015, 05:43:25 am »
I have two mds and a core running 10.04; its been working great for a long time.  Suddenly one day myth (livetv) on one of the mds stopped working.  It would just get to the menu screen of myth and then suddenly return to the screen saver... (the other md worked fine)  now about one week later the other md is doing too.

Any suggestions on how to troubleshoot the situation?

Users / Roku Template 2049
« on: July 06, 2014, 07:36:56 pm »
I'm trying to use template 2049 which is controlling the player correctly
I changed the media type to DVD so that the remote would be more accurate
and that also created the media scenarios that were not being created automatically
but I get no video on screen; i do get remote on orbiters and I can get video if I log in with x-forwarding, change the input via v4l2-ctl  and type mplayer /dev/video0.

DCERouter.log says:
08 07/06/14 13:22:14.146  Received Message from 0 (unknown / ) to 10 (Media Plug-in / Server Area), type 1 id 43 Command:MH Play Media, retry none, parameters: <0x94ffcb70>

 07 07/06/14 13:22:14.148  Event #19 has no handlers <0x9abf9b70>

38 is the default audio on the capture card, but I see no video device id, video device id should be 32; and that is configure correctly for the device in webadmin -> A/V Equipment.

I though i understood what was going on, but now I'm confused again... Any help is much appreciated.

I have a poweredge 2850 with an Embedded ATI Radeon 7000-M
 AVWizard is not running :(
 /usr/bin/aticonfig: No supported adapters detected
any ideas on what I could do to get it to work?
 apparently it defaults to: radeon
and kde looks great with that driver
 but orbiter is acting funny

Users / old server proliant ml530 G1
« on: May 20, 2014, 04:20:25 pm »
I was given an old 2 processor proliant ml 530 g1 (http://www.sillworks.com/quickspecs_proliant_ML530G1.php) with scsi drives (5 discs running raid5) 2.5 gigs of ecc ram (PC133MHz Registered ECC SDRAM DIMM Module) power supply array, etc.

The installation went great (network install of 1004).  I was able to configure hdpvr, and two media directors. Everything seems stable and something expected to be slower, but I did not expect logging into a MD via ssh would take 1-2mins to login, playing a video from an MD would take 30-60 seconds to begin playing and 45 - 90 seconds from the moment myth starts to the moment the live stream begins.

Am I missing something? Do you guys think this kinda of core hardware would cause this kinda of problem?  During these slow load times core CPU is not at 100%.

Any ideas on why some components are working slow while others (screensaver, zwave lights, router reloads, among oothers) work fine?

Users / X100P
« on: December 18, 2013, 04:54:12 am »
Before I get start I just want to clarify why I'm using an X100P card instead of a SIP provider...

My cable company gave me a free phone line that I have no use for, so why not connect it to dcerouter.

OK, I'm trying to compile information on how to get my X100P card I purchased from http://x100p.com/products/FXO.php last week.  I started a wiki page http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/X100P where I will documenting the process. I would greatly appreciate any help from the linuxmce gods.

ATM, I have only installed the Dahdi package and ran dahdi_genconf.  I have noticed that lspci does say something is connected and dahdi_hardware seems to like the card, but thats as far as Ive gotten.

Thanks.

Developers / media tagging

Is it just me or is auto tag, get metadata, and deleting images attributes all broken?  Can seem to tag anything automatically "Found Overriding Media Sub Type::0"?

Users / X10 Light Switch (dimmable) #38
« on: August 11, 2013, 05:59:21 am »
Im using a CM15A Interface on my core.  I connected the usb cable and it was detected like a charm.  I then added an Light Switch (dimmable) #38, selected the room and set the port/channel number.  reloaded and regenerated orbiters

The light turns off great, but then does not turn back on.  I see the logs for on and off:

08      08/10/13 23:57:30.772           Received Message from 48 (Orbiter / Bedroom (Master)) to 160 (Light Switch (dimmable) / Bedroom (Master)), type 1 id 193 Command:Off, retry none, parameters: <0xaca52b70>
08      08/10/13 23:57:30.772             Parameter 76(Level): 0 <0xaca52b70>

08      08/10/13 23:57:33.634           Received Message from 48 (Orbiter / Bedroom (Master)) to 160 (Light Switch (dimmable) / Bedroom (Master)), type 1 id 184 Command:Set Level, retry none, parameters: <0xaca52b70>
08      08/10/13 23:57:33.634             Parameter 76(Level): 100 <0xaca52b70>

I have an X10 remote that I have used in the past to turn off and on the lights and oddly enough turning the light off via LMCE also makes the remove not work to turn it back on... I have to turn on the switch manually and then the remote works again...

Has anyone been through something like this?

Users / HDPVR to MDs
« on: August 04, 2013, 02:55:06 am »
I'm trying to stream HD content from a HDPVR over a gigabit network from core to md using xineand the core is giving alot of this:

ffmpeg_video_dec: error decompressing framed   0%  3.0s  384kbps 0,     on
video_out: throwing away image with pts 11712475 because it's too old (diff : 380949).

then Xine on the core seems to eventually crashes yet if I view the content on the core there is (not the mds) theres no poblem this is 10.04 the core has 4gigs of ram and 3 core processos using kernel 2.6.38.  when the video runs on the md the sound is always like 2 - 3 behind; but the video and sound is pretty smooth.

Any Ideas on what I can do to fix this?

Users / 1004 xine at 100% cpu [SOLVED]
« on: July 28, 2013, 06:26:38 am »
I just bought an ION motherboard (Zotac IONITX-B-E) and xine hops to 100% cpu when playing hd content.  content that should be handled by vdpau.  This is a fresh installation, what could be wrong?

Users / USB UIRT 0038
« on: March 30, 2013, 04:42:26 pm »
i have a fresh install of 1004 final up till now Ive done everything through webadmin (except hulu) and everything has worked great even hdmi audio on m3n78-vm but im having a little problem with usbirt once the device is connected the hybrid adds it and also adds the mce remote.  Shouldnt those two device be under "the core/hybrid" in the device tree instead of under "CORE" either way my (even if I changed "controlled by" the remote is not working and it seems like USB URT 0038 doesnt start correctly on route reload.  Any comments or suggestions?

Users / HDMI AUDIO PROBLEM
« on: December 29, 2012, 08:44:42 pm »
I have a M3N78-VM.  I used apt-get update and apt-get upgrade today and now I dont have audio (HDMI).  The command: aplay -D plughw:0,3 /usr/share/sounds/alsa/Front_Center.wav plays sound through the speakers, but no sound in xine and no sound in myth.  What are the correct steps to get it working? I already went through the avwizard again selecting hdmi audio and restarted various times.  This is on the CORE/Hybrid.

Thanks.

Users / [SOLVED] NIC not recognized - BIOSTAR G41D3C - kernel driver atl1c
« on: September 20, 2012, 03:36:44 am »
I have a Biostar G41D3C (http://www.biostar.com.tw/app/en/mb/introduction.php?S_ID=518) with a pci-x (VDPAU capable) hdmi out card and 2 gigs of ram.  I should world great as an MD, but apparently the NIC is not supported by the kernel or the drivers are not loaded by default.  I'm a little confused on the offical way to get this md working and possible supported OTB by linuxmce future release.

Can some one post help me figure this out... maybe by posting here some official instructions so I can try them and then I''ll document them correctly in the wiki (It seems that the current documentation of this on the wiki doesnt work right)?

Thanks
