I get major graphic corruption on the MD's when I switch on any version of deinterlacing with ul2 overlay. Black areas of the screen pixelate and "light comes though". It looks almost as if the screen saver is showing though. It is the same graphic corruption that you get when you use ul2 alpha blending with composite turned off. Ul2 alpha works fine with deinterlacing but the screen tearing is unbearable.

I have no idea where to start debugging this.

Users / Video playlist crashes xine on MD
« on: October 31, 2011, 06:29:00 am »

When I try to use a video playlist (even just play all) on my MD xine dies when it tries to change track. If you change the track manually it works fine. Video playlists work fine on the core. Audio playlists work fine on both. This is happening on 1004, I tried it on a 810 beta 2 install and it happens there also.

It looks like it might be a locking issue based on these messages from the xine-player.log

Code: [Select]
Deadlock problem.  37  Going to reload and quit <0xafdffb70>
Terminating Xine_Player: watchdog detected hard deadlock, seems soft reload failed

Logs taken from track change.

Users / Media disappears after MD start 1004
« on: October 22, 2011, 12:31:22 am »

Another weird one. I am only running my media on internal drives on the core/hybrid, no nfs or samba shares. When the core is started the media shows up correctly in the media browser and on all orbiters (web, ipad, iphone, cisco 7970).
When I start my diskless media director the media disappears on everything. It looks like it might be a graphics glitch as where the drives and file names usually show is replaced by a black box. All the media is available through the search functionality.

I was able to fix this previously by taking advantage of a bug that enabled me to restart the core while leaving the MD's on. This bug has now been fixed and the MD's restart with the core so I am stuck without media.

Any help would be greatly appreciated, either a fix or in the short term a way to restart the core while leaving the MD's on. I am time limited on this one as I am having a party on the weekend so need media, if I cant get it fixed or have a workaround by Wednesday I will have to rush an 810 install which I really, really don't want to do.

Users / Mythtv random key presses [Solved]
« on: September 26, 2011, 02:11:33 pm »
Hi People,

I recently upgraded my 1004 install and now mythtv randomly and frequently presses enter. So while watching livetv you get frequent "bookmark saved/cleared" messages, you can't use the guide because it changes channel almost straight away. It also happens in the recordings making it almost impossible to navigate. This only happens in mythtv, there is no problem with the overlay UI.

The problem occurs on both the core and the MD's.

I have no idea where to start to diagnose this. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I would like to try avoid re-installing. Is there a way to just rebuild the mythtv portion of it?

1004 install
Quad core hybrid core
Asrock 330HT Media directors
iPhone/iPAD orbiters.

Users / Mythtv corruption when recording with 2 or more tuners.
« on: October 11, 2010, 07:54:18 am »

When recording (or viewing) 2 or more shows on different muliplexs all of the recordings will go green and pixelate. If you stop the additional recording straight away everything goes back to normal. If you leave the recordings going eventually the tuner card will crash with i2c_scan errors. At this point you need to turn off the core and turn it back on to have mythtv start to function again.

This only happens when the second (or third) tuner is used. If can record 2 shows on the same multiplex with one tuner fine. I have tested all tuners individually and they are fine. Following other posts about the i2c_scan errors it suggested that poor signal may have been the issue. I have excellent quality signal in the 50-60% strength range but I went out and bought a booster just in case. Now my signal is 70-80% but had no effect on my problem.

Mythbackend logs show no error. dmesg and /var/log/messages also show no error unless you let the problem proceed to a tuner crash. I don't know how to access mythfrontend's output in linuxmce.

My system details are below. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I have exhausted all the this forum and google have on the subject.

AMD phenom x4
1x 80GB hdd (os)
1x 1TB pipeline hdd (data)
3x Winfast USB DTV GOLD tuners
2x Gigabit nic

Asrock 330HT diskless

Linuxmce 8.10 net install as per wiki. Latest updates.

Users / Simple Network Question
« on: May 06, 2008, 03:18:49 pm »

I currently have a dedicated dhcp server (FreeBSD) which feed all my other machines my cable internet.
The setup is standard 1 eth port to the cable modem and another to the switch.

LMCE wants to be the server and I want to let it. My problem is that my cable point on the other side of the house to my aieral points.
Moving the points is not a simple or cheap task in this house. Running a network cable from the modem to the core's location is also not an option due to long length of the cable and poor output from the modem.

I am sure there is a simple solution out there I am just not doing well getting it.

Thank You.

Users / Need more tuners than PCI sliots
« on: May 06, 2008, 03:10:22 pm »

I require more tuners than I have PCI slots. What would be the best solution to achieve this?
Can multiple USB tuners play well with multiple PCI ones?
Is there some way to slave another machine to the core?

I apologize if this information is easily found. I had no luck.
