Marketplace / USB UIRTS and Xantech extenders (Both opened box)
« on: December 11, 2009, 09:32:41 pm »

I have some USB UIRTS (56k enhanced versions) that are not in packaging and have been used once or twice. They have been tested and are in full working order.
I will let these go at the bargain price of £30 including delivery to anywhere in the world.
I also have some Xantech 282D IR extenders, they are actually brand new but do not come in a package (left over from a multipack). I will let these go for £10 including delivery.
Payment by Bank Transfer, Paypal or I can set something up on my web site (hightechpad.com) to accept a credit card payment.
I only have about 3-4 of each product so be quick!

Cheers!

Marketplace / New web store for European Users....
« on: April 04, 2009, 02:21:37 pm »
Hi,
I have been a using LinuxMCE quite a while and love it. However, I have experienced frustration in obtaining hardware that is compatible or is recommended for use with LinuxMCE. I therefore decided to create a new web site targetting European LMCE and general Linux home users by providing generic domestic computer hardware and LinuxMCE related hardware.
I have decided to create a place that sells items such as Z-Wave kit, USB UIRTs, Xantech IR Emitters, Antec Cases, Basic Barebones systems, IP Cameras etc. I also have access to the entire Dianemo range of LinuxMCE kit (all licenced with Pluto).
I am also looking to increase the range to include the WebDT orbitors, more Z-Wave equipment, fully licenced Media Directors, VoIP hardware, remote controls and more.
So there you have it, if you would like to visit the new site, the address www.hightechpad.com.
If you would like to discuss anything with me, I am a regular in the IRC channel.
Many Thanks,
Mark

Users / Use of the LMCE logo?
« on: January 04, 2009, 08:46:36 pm »
Hi,
If I was to advertise a certain product as Linux MCE compatible, would I require special permissions from anybody in particular. Also, can I use the LMCE logo to advertise the fact the products I am selling are LinuxMCE compatible?
Many Thanks,
Mark

Users / Turn on/off using a remote control
« on: November 17, 2008, 08:36:43 pm »
Hi,
Is there a way to turn Linuxmce on and off (mainly on) using a remote control? I have been looking and can't find a way to do this at the moment.
I may make something to do this if not as it's a bit annoying getting off my bum to turn it on :)
Thanks

Users / VDR + remote
« on: July 20, 2008, 03:56:52 pm »
Hi,
When I use my remote with LMCE, everything seems to work ok apart from VDR. Only the menu button appears to function. I know this has been an on going problem, but will it be fixed for future releases? Is there a way I can configure it work using VDR config tools rather than LMCE?
Thanks,
Mark

Hi,
I have quite a few absolutely brand new USB UIRT 56k enchanced devices for sale. They work out of the box with Linuxmce. These retail at $55 + $20 handling and have been out of stock to EU customers for quite some time. I am selling these for £35 inc delivery to the UK.
I will have to check on the delivery prices to the EU.
If anybody is interested please pm me. I can accept Paypal, cheque or bank transfer.
Cheers,
Mark

Users / Linuxmce/Pluto licence question - selling equipment
« on: April 18, 2008, 06:09:19 pm »
I know obviously selling equipment indended to run Linuxmce is subject to Pluto Licencing. Is a Pluto licence required to sell ordinary peripheral equipment, such as Z-Wave kit, as LinuxMCE compatable?
Thanks,
Mark

Installation issues / automount failures
« on: April 01, 2008, 09:22:34 am »
In the syslog I get a couple of these messages every second. Does anybody know what is causing these? I have looked in the fstab but there seems to be nothing there. I think 41 is a harddrive that has since been removed from the core.

Apr  1 08:19:03 dcerouter automount[16497]: failed to mount /mnt/device/41
Apr  1 08:19:03 dcerouter automount[16528]: lookup(program): lookup for 41 failed

Installation issues / PXE booting
« on: March 30, 2008, 12:24:43 pm »
My md boots into the pxelinux kernel, then as it loads it runs dhclient and gets the Ip address but seems to hang there. Then about two minutes later it will output the dhcp reply over and over again. I can go no further and have to restart. Has anybody experienced this before? Is there any logs saved when pxebooting?
Thanks,
Mark

Users / "Cannot connect to router"
« on: March 15, 2008, 09:15:00 am »
Hi,
I have a core working but whenever I try to pxe boot a MD i get an error saying "Cannot connect to router" and it then restarts 5 seconds later. Does anybody know how to fix this? I have tried two different PCs and get the same problem so I think its a problem with the core.
Thanks,
Mark

Users / PXE boot freezes
« on: February 27, 2008, 12:26:15 pm »
Hi,
I am trying to network boot my laptop but the kernel seems to hang on the following line :

PNP: PS/2 Controller [PNP0303,PNP0f13] at 0x60,0x64 irq 1,12

Has anybody experienced this before? I have disabled legacy USB support in the bios but it still fails (read this could be the cause from another forum)

Can anybody help ?
Thanks
