Users / IMPORTANT NOTICE: 1204 debs from svn version 29240
« on: August 15, 2014, 11:46:16 pm »
There has been a change in a central header file. This change effects all binary packages. The next set of upgrades will contain a lot of files, and you can expect some crazy postinst madness. Beware of when you do the upgrade.

Developers / Trac - closed for anonymous track commits
« on: June 18, 2014, 11:11:02 pm »
Due to the overwhelming spam we've received even with some spam checking, I decided to remove the right for anonymous ticket creation. Whoever wants to help us by creating bug reports, please send me a PM with the output of
Code: [Select]
htpasswd -mn <the-login-name-you-want-for-trac>

You will be prompted for your password, and the output will be added to the trac user database. Maybe ochorocho is able to link the forum's userbase to trac like we already have with the wiki. But atm the above is the way to go.

Thank you for your understanding.

« on: February 22, 2014, 12:05:41 pm »
Please contact me via PM if you live in the Syracruse,NY area and would be willing to lend me a hand in checking out used RVs. I need someone to look at offers over there, before spending money on a ticket to fly over from Germany.

Thanks.

Feature requests & roadmap / UI Thoughts
« on: February 16, 2013, 01:52:42 pm »
We have an existing UI. And we have two ways of implementing the UI. Both are fairly similar, in that they present multiple scenario buttons grouped by areas of interest.

Thinking about this, rethinking about stuff users said in the past, and how *I* myself am using the system made me realize that a different paradigm might be more appropriate.

Do we really need all those canned buttons/scenarios?

On one side, it is great to have a consistent view, i.e. no matter what Orbiter people use in my home, they always have the same look and feel, find stuff easily, once they learned the Orbiter.
On the other side, there are times, when I think, wouldn't it be great to just have a couple of scenario buttons on the main page, tailored for the individual user. With the user having the ability to turn on/off stuff based on what s/he wants to see on the main page on this particular Orbiter, or for all his/her orbiters.
In our home, we do not use climate at all. And even when we start using it, I can't find a reason to have it available on the home page. On the other hand, it would be great to have more lighting scenario buttons available to the front page, and maybe more media scenarios. Others might respond, that they do not need any media scenarios, but only want lights and climate, so I think it would be wise to give the user the choice, what to display on the main menu. And by choice, I do not mean the ability to utilize HA Designer to redesign the starting page.

Thoughts, opinion?!

Good day,

golgoj4 found a problem with snapshot 26131. Due a syntax error in /usr/pluto/bin/SetupAudioVideo.sh line 115 alsa isn't setup properly. Anyone with a pluto-boot-script version 26131 will have this problem. The fix is easy. Either wait till around 5 p.m. CEST, or change line 115 in the above file to look like this:
Code: [Select]
if [[ "$AudioSetting" == "M" ]]; then

Sorry for the inconvenience.

SOLVED: The fixes are in the repo now. The later snapshots will be available in the next few hours.

Best regards
