Installation issues / Atom D510 Install - yes im searching now

Searching now but if someone has an answer ill have it. Have a foxconn r40-D2 with atom D510. trying to install from usb. doesnt want to boot. I just get # signs. All I want to know is if anyone has successfully got 1004 going on this platform. Thanks.

Directv allows control of their rx's through the network. Also so does yamaha and lg tv's. an we start seeing some network based controls? I really want to get an HD capture card going (componenet obviously) with one of my rx's and get this party started.

Installation issues / New MOBO! I insert disk, grub shows, select install, begins, reboots?

Thinking its something in my bios but not having much luck getting it going .... going to burn clean copy today and try again ... any ideas....... I make it to the splash screen which says kubuntu right after selecting install. then it goes away .... says loading grub again that changes to a flashing underscore icon and then it reboots....... crazy stuff?

Installation issues / No drives show up in Orbitor on core

Ok I am only running the one main machine at the moment as a hybrid. Before when I have loaded MCE the drive detection seemed to be functioning. Now I see only the DVD drive in the Manage Drives menu. All my drives show up in KDE including the USB hard drive. But none in LMCE. Is there something I have to do to make them visible to MCE?

Users / Ripped first disc. Finally.. But have a couple questions.

Ripped one disc and it came back as unknown then showed the cover art and name of another movie i ripped? Where is the right place to change this without screwing anything up. and what is the format for naming. (I am going to be looking through the forums more as well just wanted to get all this in one post.)(

A few discs have ripped almost all the way through and then give me a disc ripping error and thats the end of it ... libdvdcss2 is properly installed when i check in the console.

is there a way to change the settings so that when i insert a dvd it doesnt play automatically. I want to go ahead and put all my dvd's on my drive and its making it take longer. I would prefer to set it to rip automatically. Possible?

Its another internal but when i go to the kubuntu drive and filesystem manager and activate administrator mode the root password login doesnt appear nothing just blank
