Marketplace / Re: Web DT 366 for sale in Australia
« on: June 08, 2011, 02:07:05 pm »
I got LinuxMCE 810 going but the mythtv and the hdhomerun didn't want to play nice.

It was a bit too difficult for me to get myth 0.24 fixes installed so I've given up and moved back to mythbuntu.

I wasn't watching video through the lmce system anyway, just squeezebox, IP camera (which I can view on my android phone) and mythtv recordings.

Unfortunatly the WAF was too low so the parts are up for sale and I might revisit this later on.

Hope that explains.

The WebDTs are in pretty good nick, battery run time is about 15-30 mins though as a lot of the older ones are.

Hi All,

I have 2x WebDT 366's for sale. Also come with an edup card that allows WPA2 connection. (see the wiki as I wrote that up.)
The standard cards are also included if you want to use standby.

If it is a reasonable offer let me know.

They are located in Australia so postage in Australia would be the easiest and paypal too.

PM me for more.

Sorry I meant I'm using the DVB-T version.

Mythbuntu works fine for me.

Is it the DVB-T version or the ATSC. I'm using ATSC,

Just tried mythbuntu 0.24 and it runs fine so like Andrew said it leaves me trying to upgrade the linuxMCE to 0.24 or just moving back to mythbuntu.

From memory and this is a while ago the 0kb link on the admin page was for the windows orbiter and I believe it is broken/not working.

Either way, I would suggest trying a signal booster. Get one with variable gain. Turn the gain right down, see how it looks, and then gradually increase it until you get the best picture.

Thanks Matt, I've tried an old signal booster that I had and it didn't work but I'm not confident the signal booster is doing it's job.

Could it be that the quickview software is only utilising one tuner?

Unfortunately I can only view and not record with the software and it only allows one window. I did find the config GUI wich is showing 100% for all signal strength, quality and symbol quality for both tuners when on different channels and they stream around 4 to 8 Mbps So I think the network can cope.

Quote
When we shipped with MythTV 0.23 we had a load of tuning related problems when using HDHomeRun's (a Myth bug and not a problem with the HDHomeRun)... it seems likely you may be suffering that problem too. MythTV 0.24-fixes corrects this problem and many others too by the way.

What is the best way to go to 0.24-fixes. Can 810 be upgraded and how?
Or
Is it best to go to 1004?

Thanks Josh

Don't know if this post can be moved, but....

It looks pretty interesting.

http://www.nxp.com/campaigns/greenchip/pages/form-get-greenchip-lighting-samples.php

Only had a quick look but they seem to be giving out some free samples if any of the devs are interested.

Yes it is a dual tuner. There is one input so I believe it splits internaly to serve both tuners.

The thing that confuses me is that I don't have problems watching tv using the hdhomerun quickview software on a windows 7 machine.

I read somewhere that with mythtv when It scans it can show signal quality but I've been unable to find that.

Thanks Josh

Hi all,

Onto the next issue:

MythTV playback through a HDHomerun DVB-T

Both live TV playback and recording on the core ends up with a lot of digital artifacts/breakup, similar to poor signal.

I've had the signal strength tested and it is fine.
I've used the hdhomerun's tv software on a windows 7 laptop and the picture is perfect.

It's only and issue through the core and the MD's as well.

Core is
AsRock N68-S3-UCC DDR3 All-In-One DDR3 with
Integrated NVIDIA GeForce 7025 graphics Max. shared memory 256MB
2GB kingston ram
AMD Sempron 140 2.7GHz
320GB Seagate AV drive

MD  is
Zotac IONITX-A-C

MythTV Version:
Please attach all output as a file in bug reports.
MythTV Version   : 23843M
MythTV Branch    : tags/release-0-23
Network Protocol : 56
Library API      : 0.23.20100429-1
QT Version       : 4.4.3
Options compiled in:
 linux release using_oss using_alsa using_pulse using_jack using_pulseoutput using_backend using_directfb using_dvb using_firewire using_frontend using_glx_proc_addr_arb using_hdhomerun using_hdpvr using_iptv using_ivtv using_joystick_menu using_libfftw3 using_lirc using_mheg using_opengl_video using_opengl_vsync using_qtdbus using_qtwebkit using_v4l using_x11 using_xrandr using_xv using_xvmc using_xvmc_vld using_xvmcw using_bindings_perl using_bindings_python using_opengl using_vdpau using_ffmpeg_threads using_libavc_5_3 using_live using_mheg

I'm not sure what the next step trouble shooting is?
Is it hardware or software?
I think my hardware is up to scratch, The hdd is an AV drive so should cope well.

I'm open to suggestions.

Thanks Josh

If you could try that would be great, I'll try and compile a list of what does and doesn't work and add it to the wiki.

On mine it worked on the Dlink 100MB switch and a linksys 100MB router.

Didn't work on the Tenda (I believe they are the TrendNets in the US but I could be wrong) TEG1024 GB switch and a Billion GB router.

but Installing Windows 7 and updating Windows drivers is not going to help with your PXE boot issues at all I'm afraid.
That was my understanding but that is what they have asked me to do.

Didn't work anyway but I did find the issue.

The Zotac board won't recognise my gigabit switch or the gigabit router (DHCP off and used as a wireless AP).

When I plugged it into a seperate 10/100 switch it worked then.

Both my GB switch and router are autoneg, 10/100/1000

I'm going to try and find out why that is the case but I don't really understand why?

What hardware are you guys using with the Zotac board? All MB switches? Anyone have a GB switch that works with it?

Thanks Josh

Just to rule it out of the equation... have you swapped the network cable too? Just in case there is a bad cable issue....

Yes, different port too. Tried a different computer with the same cable and it started to pxe boot, ie picked up an IP address, found the core.

I've contacted Zotac and they have asked that I install the latest drivers. Not sure how that is going to work but maybe getting it going will kick start something.

Anyway it was on my list to troubleshoot;
1) Make sure this board also has the latest BIOS. (The old one did)
2) Install windows 7 and the latest drivers.

There is a bit of a wait too so give it some time.

I thought mine did the same and was frozen so rebooted and then saw the occasional overlay msgs next. I left it for a while and came back and it had loaded.

Okay,

New board back unfortunately still the same problem.

I've rerun Diskless_CreateTBZ.sh
Another PC plugged in starts picking up IP addresses etc.

What are the chances I have 2 duds or I must be missing something.

The only BIOS change I've made is to select PXE boot rom enabled.

Is it possible that something on the core is not setup properly like the Diskless_CreateTBZ.sh?

How can I check this?

Thanks Josh
