Default settings in Beta DVD is instalation that You have to manually creta diskless setup. Check more here:
http://wiki.linuxmce.com/index.php/LinuxMCE-0810_beta
I'm aware of that and ran the /usr/pluto/bin/Diskless_CreateTBZ.sh scrpit which gets to the point where it tries to run the a/v wizard setup and "failed to setup x" shows up.  i assume you have a working md.  i'm first trying to figure out if its a problem with my system?

I'm getting the "failed to start x" message on an nvidia board that worked in 8.10 alpha.  Anybody have a MD up and going?  also, i have a M3N78-vm for core, I use a 180 nvidia driver, but when i updated to beta, the only driver that seems to work is the 190.  When i use the kubuntu desktop, everything stutters.  takes a few seconds between i/o input and response.   cheers

Installation issues / Re: beta-problem with MD
« on: October 23, 2009, 08:16:48 am »
After reading all you peoples tips I finally managed to get passed the 'Diskless Setup Failed' message. The MD set up for a long time and now wants to try to load the AV Wizard but it fails and gives a Blue screen with the message 'AVWizard Failed to setup X'

Am now in exactly the same situation.

I did try having a play with the hardware acceleration options in LinuxMCE Admin, but it didn't seem to make any difference.

May I also say thanks for all of the help so far. Am trying to add relevant information to the wiki as we go.

well i tried another md, same result. has anybody got an md working or solution?

updated beta......same problem here too

Thanks for the help thus far. just posting my results. after "f'ing"(lol) a slew of error mssages...   i reinstalled yesterday, solved another issue with the 185.18.36 nvida driver. I found that even the 180. driver will not work to eliminate that problem. That solved the loss of signal after reboot. the driver is causing a weird screen position issue, where i have chosen a few different video settings, but none fit properly and shows up as a 1/4th of the linuxmce screen visible at the bottom right of the screen.  Had to move he screen to the very top left and shrink the screen in the wizard.  It still looks messed up but usuable for the core use.   after running   "/usr/pluto/bin/startup-script.sh", it was somewhat working to boot md's, minus the media networking issues and errors that led to another install.  now i'm not getting past announcing ourselves to the router followed by..... diskless setup failed Smiley

Well there's plenty of errors!

The DCERouter seems to believe that your MD device is not registered "The target device 49 (routed to 49) has not registered." I don't know if this is a normal error message, but the device definitely should be registered - look in your web admin under the Devices Tree and navigate to the MD device. In the right hand pane the device details will appear. At the bottom of the first block just above Save/Cancel there will be  a text line "Registered:" this should say Yes.

Perhaps this could be effecting Xine and causing the other errors? In the Xine log it is indicating several issues not being able to initialise various drivers or streams... not sure what is causing this but perhaps the MD hasn't registered properly?

It says no, it is not registered. why would it not register properly?
