Users / Re: New Build - questions on virtualized approach
« on: April 22, 2017, 11:03:38 pm »
I have done some tests with proxmox some years ago to virtualize the core. The biggest problem I had, was performance issues with my quad TV card. You can passthrough the PCI slot, but still it ended up being way too slow at channel switching and HD was not even running smooth.
Also note that the dhcp server will be running in the VM in LMCE and as soon as you stop it (for backups or upgrades) you will have to find a nice way to still be able to connect to proxmox.

I can confirm 1404 netinstall is now in pretty good state! DVD install gave me lots of headache though...

I'm trying to do a 1204 netinstall, but the script exits with error 1. here is the scripts output:
It seems like something with database pluto_main is wrong...

any ideas?

I am always laughing when I see people wanting to control the temperature in a room. This must be something from a different country, or mind set.

In my mindset, I set the temperature for a room once, I might modify it empirical over time, but never ever do I change the temperature in a room daily or on a time schedule. Way more expensive to reheat a room, than to keep a room at a specific temperature. Maybe other countries/homes are different, but that is the scientific consensus in Germany.

the point may be, in the case of a central heatingsystem, you set the temperature for each room but there is no sensor which checks how warm it really is in each room (they often just have an outside sensor). now when you have big windows in a room and sun is shining the room would be warm enough without heating. when heating is on as well, it would get too warm...

my 2 cents

probably your problem is that your audio is not tagged and so it does not show up under audio...
if your stuff shows up, you can just go into that album and hit "play all".

Installation issues / Re: Installation from source - how to get them?

why don't you just go with something like Mister House which is designed just for Homeautomation. You take a fullhouse solution and want to take away about 90% of its features. Doesn't make much sense, right?

the best thing about that seems to be the video, all other things don't seem to be new at all. if we had a advertising video like this we could propably collect some big amount of money as well.
