Ya  Crestron has a in-wall control panel running $1200+ depending where you look......

As far as POE on these units its a POE power board ( add on adapter board ) external to the android unit its self...  the add on board does the
48v 803.2af/data separation for the main unit.  This is nice not being internal to the unit for service reasons...  But really one could run the 9v-27v
power via passive baluns if really needed and use wifi for main lan connection.  But POE is a really nice add on for this anyhow.

My point is that it is a static android control panel that can be used with other control systems via app like micasa, touchsquid, ect

But when i get time to order a 7" or 9" flush mount sample ill do a run up on it in the hardware wiki...  Looking at testing one as a central control
android orbiter on each level of the house that i am remodeling :)

Plus it might work well in a micasa demo board i am working on for a trade show..

 ::)

I'll be moving into our new house and so all my media equipment as well...  may a while before I
have time and money to setup properly..

I may also rework my lmce system as well since my core/hybrid died and have to rebuild...

I may end up with a true core system with 2x MD's

I will change it in user setups when It evolves

did a clean install of 810 final

most everything went well  noticed a couple this...

#1
I am having alot of gen/reloads at random...
( This may be do to MotionWrapper = running one anolog camera+foscam clone+linksys ip cams )

camera's seem to work properly but i noticed if i remove motionwrapper and cams the regen/reloads stop

#2 I have two gryration 301 mce remotes.....back in beta they where detected and installed and basicly all buttons funtioned properly..  now in final basicly the mouse gest buttons work.

thought you would like to know...

my hdhomerun, and NAS's where found and working properly so far...  and the interface seems faster by a bit

let me know if any had this issue as well

« on: August 20, 2011, 04:51:23 pm »
Looking at a 32GB ssd SATA 2 drive for the new core's operating drive... currenty have std sata2 500gb

Most of my media is on NAS drives
questions:

  • Will it be big enough for the install?
  • Any true speed difference -vs- hdd?
