Users / Re: Yamaha RX-v1600 not being detected.
« on: December 21, 2010, 08:43:46 pm »
I have the same problems with an Onkyo receiver and LG TV after a recent update.  Both are connected through a USB to serial dongle.  I told the system to ignore the USB to serial device to avoid the auto-detection pop ups.

Edit: I just wanted to note that this was working correctly for me prior to 2010-12-05 23479 and 2010-12-16 23525.  I can't remember if I applied both updates at the same time, or if I had used 2010-12-05 23479 before upgrading to 2010-12-16 23525.

Thanks apagg, I must of missed that ticket.

I'd encourage you to add the option even if you finish the auto-tagger first, golgoj4.  It's nice to have extra options for manually updating the tags.

Users / Coverart search no longer works
« on: November 05, 2010, 06:03:24 pm »
I'm having an issue searching for coverart lately.  Whenever I search through webadmin with either Amazon or IMDB, I am getting no coverart returned on any of the results, and the release dates are all -1.  Is anyone else seeing this?

I originally posted my problem in a similar thread, but decided it was probably unrelated.  (http://forum.linuxmce.org/index.php?topic=10365.0)

Here is the relevant section in DCERouter.log:

I'm still having issues with DCERouter dying every 14 minutes.  This is on a fresh install of 23148 (uploaded July 6th).  I don't see any new updates, is anyone else still having this problem?  Here is my log:

Users / Re: Please Help - 0810 keeps dropping my internet connection
« on: November 29, 2009, 05:50:33 pm »
Charlie,
I noticed your external network card was eth1.  I'm not sure if this still matters, but the 810 beta page on the wiki says that the external card needed to be eth0.  I believe there is a button in the web admin site to swap these - don't forget to swap your network cables too.

Users / Re: Missing Autogenerated Scenarios
« on: September 13, 2009, 02:00:49 am »
Thanks for the suggestion jimbodude.  Everything looks like it was setup for the correct rooms.  I had some extra rooms that weren't assigned MDs yet, so to troubleshoot I deleted all rooms except for the Core/hybrid room.  I double checked the MD and Orbiter, and they were both assigned to the correct room.  After a reload and regen, I'm still only getting floorplan under Media.  I don't have a lighting system, so we can ignore that for now.  For some reason I thought the auto generated scenarios would still show up for lighting.

Any other thoughts / suggestions?

I saw that, but was unsure how to add the default scenarios.  Normally, I'd expect to see some checkboxes for the autogenerated scenarios, but they don't exist.  I've tried adding my own, but can't seem to figure out a way to make it go to the media list.

Maybe my problem has to do with the available devices listed under add media scenario.  Right now I'm only seeing Xine Player and Myth TV Player for devices.  Should there be more listed here?

Users / Missing Autogenerated Scenarios

I did a fresh install of 0810 last night, and I am missing the autogenerated scenarios for media and lighting.  Telecom and security scenarios both showed up.  Are these missing from the current alpha, or did something go wrong with my installation?  Is there a way to create these manually?

Thanks.

Installation issues / Re: RS232 interface on an onkyo sr706...

I would also take a look here:
http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Onkyo_TXSR805
It has a lot of code already written so you don't have to reinvent the wheel.  These worked with my SR-806.

Thanks for the awesome link NOS.

Users / Re: Wireless Router with internal switch
« on: October 29, 2008, 11:10:57 pm »
If you want to use wireless to your cores, you can try creating a wireless bridge.  To do this, you would need to buy a wireless access point for your core and one access point for each of your media directors (possibly more depending on the number of MDs you want and the number of connections supported by the bridges).  Each access point should be connected through ethernet to the computer.  I've used this method for connecting various parts of the house before I had cable and it worked fairly well.  I've never tried streaming video over it, though.

Thanks for the replies, I didn't think of using pluto in this way.

Feature requests & roadmap / Static IP based on MAC Address

Most commercial routers have IP address reservation, I think LinuxMCE should have a way to do this in the admin web site.
