Compatible Products & Services / Re: DVB tuners

I have a DM 500-T, it's video output is connected to the composite-in of a PVR-250 card on the Core. I have no experience with the RS232 port on the Dreambox, I use it's network connection to change the channels (A simple script sends a wget command to the Dreambox  to change the channel)

Is the network control something that is implemented already in 0710 or did you hack it yourself?

Users / Re: "Wireless" core?
« on: January 26, 2008, 01:56:50 am »
Just to be clear, wireless isn't the best thing for realtime datatransfers so try to avoid it as much as possible. If you must use it anyway you need some overcapacity. The best thing that is available right now is 802.11N draft2  equipment. Unfortunately I don't think the support for 802.11N gear in linux is the best right now. So to get "wireless" right now I think the easiest thing is to use d-link DAP-1555 gear.

I've ordered the above gear but havn't tried it yet. So I can't say for sure that it will work...

I've been looking on the D201GLY and will probably pick one up soon. I'm just looking for a really small chassi with space for either a half size pci(low profile) or a pci raiser card.
I'm guessing the SiS won't work and a pci gefore 6200 isn't that expensive.

Users / change buffer for live tv
« on: January 18, 2008, 12:05:03 am »
Were do I lower the buffertlength for live tv?

Using the following setup:
Dreambox 500 -> Hauppauge 150 PVR
LMCE 0710

The problem is that the data takes to long to travel from the dreambox to the tv. I guess it's because it gets buffered somewere...
