Users / Re: codec support asterisk 0710
« on: January 10, 2008, 01:10:25 pm »
(note i havent used asterrisk, i magage switchvox pbxes, based on asterisk)

g729 is normaly the issue as digum(i think) need you have a licence per channel (concurrent call)
however you should be able to have the phone itself set to g729 you can use bypass mode and not pay for the licence.

I could be wrong however i think asterisk is the same.

I tired the Cab on my jasjam (mobile 6 upgraded). it locked the device up and i imagine maxed out the CPU as it got quite warm.

I look forward to 710,
64 bit support should be good, i can finaly use my processor properly
Im hoping that file types like MKV etc are added to updatemedia as xine can handle them jusr fine
A few bugs on my machine im hoping will be fixed (even though i have almost the exact machine used in the video)

and maybe ill work up the courage to blow away my install and start again, need an excuse to install that new hdd..

I experienced this today.
however it only occoured i believe because LMCE was trying to start the MD again (weird?) and i killed it whilst it was displaying status messages at start up.

I had to get used to SSH very quicky once i started looking after debian servers, these things are lucky if they ever get to run X
moving files about etc is a real pain however (midnight commander("mc") for the win)

*ahem*
Thread resurection.
Purly because I searched the forums for info and found none :P

vncserver comes installed by defaul on the quickinstall DVD, cant vouch for the others however.
Very easy to setup.
ssh into your box (u:linuxmce p:linuxmce on the quickdvd) and just kick off "vncserver"
key in a password and grab a viewer (like realvnc or tightvnc viewer) and connect to dcerouter:1 (vnc will open a session on screen 1 by default, you can specifiy a million options)

Code: [Select]
linuxmce@dcerouter:~$ vncserver

You will require a password to access your desktops.

Password:
Verify:

New 'X' desktop is dcerouter:1

Creating default startup script /home/linuxmce/.vnc/xstartup
Starting applications specified in /home/linuxmce/.vnc/xstartup
Log file is /home/linuxmce/.vnc/dcerouter:1.log

linuxmce@dcerouter:~$

Crafy, im using a jasjam (htc hermes based) im pretty sure the bluetooth module assumes its a smartphone and not a PDA style device, use wifi to browse to the MD and download the orbiter, make sure you install on the memory card tho. those images aint small.

I dont think i have seen anything yet that can PXE boot over wireless, the wireless card itself would need to know the network to connect to and assosicate before the bios passes init 13 to it..

Users / Update Media and Spaces in Filenames are bad!
« on: October 09, 2007, 03:13:30 pm »
hey, just a quick one for anyone getting the following when trying to update media,

Code: [Select]
sudo -u root /usr/pluto/bin/UpdateMedia -d "/home/public/data/videos/TV series"

Error doing statfs on '/home/public/data/videos/TV/'.

This is caused by a space in the directory path, resyncronise from the folder above the one with the space in the filename and update media will figure it out.

I'm not 100% as to why the command fails from the webinterface, works fine if you do it from a command line...

Thaughts anyone?

sorry, can you go into this step in a little more detail..

Quote
I then added:

@reboot /usr/local/bin/wminput -d -c /usr/local/etc/cwiid/wminput/ir_ptr 00:19:1D:84:CB:DD

to crontab -e

never done it that way before, might be why i cant load stuff.

Check the permissions of the configuration file, try sticking your command in quotation marks

Im building a new machine tonight (MD) so ill have a play (moved my core to the cupboard when we moved.. the missus aint happy :D )

of worthy note (i have checked the guides posted but most of them assumed uinput was running) the DVD install has uinput deactivated by default.

a "modprobe uinput" is required to get everything up and running PRIOR to cwiid.
can you CAN run cwiid as a normal user, you need to change the properties for uinput to all users (cant remember that one either)

Im sudoing because im slack.

I got it working with gyro out of the box, cwiid is awesome, unfortunately my son and missus (as well as moving house0 is delaying development, you guys have flown straight past what i started, Whoa!

Ill see what i can do to get cwiid -w to run when a bt device is discovered.

something i noticed in the binaries i downloaded it helps ALOT if you specify the mac of the wiimote on the cwiid command line.

(all the commands escape me at the moment... im at work)
