Hello,
My brain is on information overload at the moment, but this forum has been very informative! Thanks in advance to all who reply.
Before my question, here's a rundown of my setup:
- I have four TV's in my home, two are 1080p capable, and two are 720p. All have either component or HDMI inputs.
- I have Comcast cable with an HD package, two HD receivers, and two basic receivers (on the 720p TVs, haven't picked up an HD yet for either). The receivers have Component, HDMI and firewire outputs.
- I have a single HD FTA satellite receiver with HDMI and component outputs.
And here's what I'd like to accomplish:
- I would like to have a hybrid at one TV, and nothing but a media director at the other two.
- I would like to be able to watch four different cable streams, at most (1 per tv/cable box), at any given time (just as if the cable box was local to the TV).
- I would like to redistribute the FTA satellite receiver stream to all TV's in my house.
I assume this would entail having all four cable boxes and the satellite receiver at the location of the hybrid, with a specific type of capture card or tuner (times 4, or five?), but I'm not sure it's even possible at all. I've been reading for a few hours about limitations redistributing HD content.
I hope I've been descriptive enough - it's late =) Hopefully someone can clear up my confusion.
Thanks again!
