Feature requests & roadmap / Re: Electric Sheep visualizations ftw?

I was thinking of it to be triggered by music.  What do you mean by random animations?

this bug was not there in 1.0.

I'm getting this same error message that appeared from back in 1.0.  Right now I'm running 1.1 Beta 2 with UI2.  I start the TV part of LinuxMCE to start MythTV and I get this error.  Here are my settings for MythTV's general settings:

IP Address for dcerouter:  192.168.80.1
Port the server runs on:  6543
Port the server shows status on:  6544
Master Server IP Address:  localhost
Port the Master Server runs on:  6543

Aren't these settings right?  Is anybody else getting this issue?

a fix is to hit ctrl+alt+backspace and have it start up the the interface again, but this would be a hassle to do for people who don't have access to a keyboard present.  not sure what would be causing this bug.

5
yeah having the same issue here.  7100gs and ui2 with alpha.

Installation issues / Re: Starting Audio/Video Wizard stops
« on: May 22, 2007, 05:56:11 pm »
i'm getting the same problem.  it looks like xorg is failing to start so it goes back and tries to load the correct module and start it again giving it a continuous loop.  i made sure i had a correctly working xorg with the nvidia kernel module before installing linuxmce, but after installing its giving this error anyway.  anybody with an nvidia card with the proprietary nvidia kernel module get past this step at all?  i'll keep trying to see what is wrong..

This would be the most amazing thing ever.  Like the ability to have this load for the screensaver when playing music is something I would love.  Maybe if I have time I can start hacking at this.  Or if anyone else has set this up then please share.

Oh and if you're not sure what Electric Sheep is, then go here:

Yeah would anyone have a clue in setting this up?  It would definitely be sweet to have some images for tv shows.

Users / Completely confused on how my tuner should be setup
« on: April 16, 2007, 04:29:43 am »
I have everything setup to my liking, but the last thing I need accomplish the task of being able to watch tv through mythtv.  I currently have a video card displaying output to my tv through s-video.  Everything there is working fine.

Then I have a TV card, the hauppage pvr-500, thats hooked up.  I installed the ivtv drivers in Ubuntu and made sure everything was setup before installing linuxmce.  This tv card has composite audio/video cables connected to the composite input on the tuner and (i believe) the other end is connected to the composite out on my tv.  I'm not sure how I'm supposed to go about setting it up in linuxmce so I can watch tv, record, etc.

i'm completely lost on this.  is there a way i can remove and reconfigure my tv card or something?  i'm not sure if everything is setup correctly or not.  :(

i don't have a file called mythtvfrontend in /usr/bin.  i do have a file called mythtv though.  i guess that's what it is for me?

hi it is called mythfrontend, not mythtvfrontend.

media@dcerouter:~$ which mythfrontend
/usr/bin/mythfrontend

oops, yeah thnx.  unfortunately i don't think its working though.

edit:  ok apparently just a regen of the orbiter did it.  now it seems like mythtv is staying there.  cool, thanks corwin!

yay!  i tried changing the permissions recursively again and this time it worked.  I think i typed in a different permission earlier..  thank you!!

oh btw, i forgot what the command was to list the contents of the current directory with the permissions for each file and folder.  anyone happen to remember it?  i thought ls could do that, but maybe i'm wrong.
