I've gotten the telecom portion of my LinuxMCE 7.10 setup working, with the exception of being able to e-mail voicemail. Does this feature work in 7.10? If yes, then is there any thing else beyond the LinuxMCE web admin settings for users and voicemail that requires setting.
In searching the wiki, the following page seems to imply that there is an e-mail server:
http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Users
However, the following page seems to imply a fix is needed (at least for 8.10):
http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Postfix_configured_with_Gmail_SMTP
Any help with how to make e-mailing voicemail in 7.10 work would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Dave

Is there any reason why you are not using 0810?
-
To date 7.10 has been working fine. Once there is a stable RC of 8.10 I'll look into making a transition.

I only ask because I don't think you are going to get very much support on the 0710 side of things. And I have to say, I found 0810 to be just as good as 0710, despite it being beta.
Also, if like me, you are strictly a user only (please forgive me if my assumption is incorrect), the very least we could is provide testing/feedback for the latest release. And try to write documention wherever possible :)

I am glad to hear that 8.10 works well for you and agree that it is important to contribute where possible.
Having said that, any feedback to my original inquiry would be appreciated.
Thanks

I had my voicemails sent to me by e-mail using the instructions in 0710. I checked the history the page you cited is the page I used to set it up in 0710. It was updated recently to add 'Confrimed working in 0810'. I am not sure if anything else changed on the page but you could compare the recent update with the last historical version from March 09 and check for any other changes.

Thanks for your feedback, as well as delving into the history of the page. I'll take a closer look and probably give it a try.

I have a feeling this will work with my mailx device that can be found in any new build from SVN. Please update and add the mailx device and test this feature out.
Thanks,
Adam

Sorry for the slow follow-up. I've been distracted with some other LMCE issues, plus I am new to working with subversions. I hope to get to sooner rather than later.

Hi,
I have this working under 7.10. But I did it long time ago, so cannot help much out of my memory. If you try with more specific questions, I can check my setup. I remember doing something with the help of general Asterisk docs and setting up mail local SMTP to send mails (I think I did by relaying to my ISP SMTP server)..
Will be happy to check my setup if you come up with more specific questions...
HTH,
regards,
Bulek.

Thanks for the feedback and offer of help. Currently I am using sSMTP, and it seems to be doing the trick.
I do like Adam's mailx approach and am curious to see it in action.
