Title: Problem with Beta 2 - mythtv shows bottom colored stripes
Post by: pw44 on February 04, 2010, 05:04:23 pm
Hya,
i´ve installed the beta 2 in my upgrade machine, and after that, i configured mythtv. I´m using the Hauppuge PVR -150. When starting TV (mythtv), i get i bottom stripe, colored like a rainbow, and i´m not able to make this stripe go away. Did anyone face such a problem?
Configuration:
PVR-150 with antena on coax. Scanning "try-all" does nothing. Scanning us-bcast only brings 4 channels, but i have channels from 2 to 103. Scanning us-cable also does nothing.
TIA
Paulo

Paulo,

just make sure you have fully setup myth. So make sure you have a grabber installed/selected, then run mythfilldatabase which will fill the guide. Via webadmin you can then set channel freqs and number. And after setting the recording parameter have a look again... (maybe this is a bit short but there are a zillion articles about setting up myth)

Han,
thx for the answer.... i did fill the channels manualy on myth-setup, and they work (without scanning). What is making me crazy is the bottom colored stripe (changing colors like a rainbow).
Regrading the grabber, there is no grabber for open-air tv in Brazil.... that's why i've try us-bcast and us-cable, because their frequences are the same in Brazil. But this is my minor problem... ;) The main problem is the rainbow stripe. :'(
Best regards,
Paulo

Do you see the same problem using another proggie:

$ ivtv-tune -c 49 -t southafrica -d /dev/video0
/dev/video0: 695.250 MHz
$ vlc pvr:// vr-device="/dev/video0"
VLC media player 0.8.6c Janus

above is just an example
