Title: Question about ripping and others..
Post by: pw44 on November 16, 2009, 03:49:31 pm
Hi,
did write before about some issues, never got an answer......
- About ripping: i ripped a cd, but the encoding was wrong.... and after changing the encoding from ogg to mp3, i want to rip the cd again, but putting the same cd, i see the rip icon marked. How to reset it, in order to be able to rip the cd again with the desired encoding?
- Video resolution: on a hybrid core/md. i think that the orbiter resolution should reflect in the xorg.conf file, but i'm really not finding the way to do it.
- i did run /usr/pluto/bin/UpdateMedia, and the avwizard video files appeared in the index media files. Is there a way to run it and not including the the avwizard files?
- prolink pixelview card. i gave up, because could not find how to make mythtv use it (but tvtime uses it fine). gonna get a hauppauge pvr-150.
TIA

clearing "ripped" on CD: No idea, sorry.

video resolution: Set this from avwizard - then everything "just works".  See these resources:
http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/AVWizard
http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/AVWizard_Step_by_Step
http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Custom_Display_Resolutions

avwizard files in the media list:  You have run a media scan on the /home/ directory.  That was a very poor choice... There is no easy way to correct this - is usually is easiest to reinstall.  Search the forum - lots of people have had similar issues, and come up with various solutions.

pixelview: Just use a supported card, then it "just works"

Hi jimbodude,

- http://wiki.linuxmce.org/index.php/Custom_Display_Resolutions - thx for the link.... i did not find it until your info.

- You have run a media scan on the /home/ directory.  That was a very poor choice...  - yes, poor choice :( i will try to apt-get the original file.... and not run media scan again from /home.....

Again.. thx... will post the results.

...apt-get will not fix this problem.  You have made entries in the media database that are not easily removed.  Search the forum - there are tons of posts about fixing this.
