Title: Lost Audio 7.10
Post by: b4rney on October 07, 2009, 12:08:22 pm
I've just moved to a new temporary home and brought my core (Abit AN-M2) with me. At first it worked fine. Then I removed the 2 satellite cards as I can't connect them here (dvb-t instead).

Since removing the satellite cards I have completely lost all audio and I am trying to diagnose the problem.

Should there be a driver listed in the 'audio' tab of the LMCE Launch Manager? There isn't on mine and it's not something I've looked at before.

Any help appreciated.
(Might be time to try 8.10 I think!)

Re-run the AV Wizard for a start off...

Thanks for the suggestion. Already tried that.

Going to try the ubuntu live CD just to check the hardware is working.

are you connected using digital or analogue? if digital then ensure the iec958 is still unmuted in alsamixer. also check you asound.conf is still sensibily configured...

Thanks colinjones.

OK. Tested with kubuntu 8.10 live cd and there is still no sound. I guess there's no point upgrading if that doesn't work.

Not sure what a sensible configuration would be in asound.conf as I've never had cause to look at it before.

FYI I'm using the stereo analogue outputs. Beginning to look like hardware issue.
