I want to try to install VMware-Server on pluto.
Is that possible (compiling of vmware on pluto)?

I don't see why that should be a problem. I don't have experience with vmware server but you can start compiling it and try to post here if you get in trouble and we'll see what can be done.

Hi friends,
only for information:
It´s possible to run VMware-server on pluto, but you have to add some additional pkg, like source-header and other libs...
I´m not that debian expert, but it was not a problem to search (apt-cache search) and install the needed pkg.
I´m very happy, because now I can use the server also for several things, not "only" for pluto.

I also had great success running Pluto in VMWare server before I got dedicated hardware, before I bought a cheap dedicated server.

For the brave I also had success running within Xen un FC5 using the FC5 xenu kernel, but didn't try it for long
