Title: What do people use for telephones with LMCE?
Post by: Techstyle on May 03, 2009, 07:00:46 am
I am in the market for a new home phone, either an IP phone or a PSTN device.  I have done some searching of the forums and the Wiki to find thr only things covered are softphones, the Cisco 7970, the Sipura/Lunksys SPA2000 and a post where Totallymaxed stated they used a Phillips DECT version in CHT Builds.  I know some of the other IP phones may work and some of the other Cisco models do work.  But I think it would be good to get a list of the models actually tried and what the result was.

Thanks,
Techstyle

I have just set up a dect 3 phone system Siemens Gigaset 475IP. It has an answer machine built in and can still utilise the pots line. Buy it from ligo (ebay price is cheaper).

My setup is less advanced than Domodude with just one registration with asterisk to receive my sipgate.co.uk incoming phone, and my standard pots line but I've configured the default outgoing calls to voipcheap.co.uk (not via asterisk yet).

I can recommend these phones. No problems so far.

I use my media directors, with a Phoenix Solo USB conference microphone attached to them. Works great.

I also have one Cisco 7970 phone that I also use for Orbiter UI development.

Yeah we like the Siemens Gigaset 475IP phones...they also now make a door entry panel that is part of the Gigaset line an we are just starting a project using this. I will add a page to the Wiki about this feature of the Gigasets shortly (we will probably do some templates too for these).
