Post by: archived on May 02, 2006, 03:50:50 am
Just wanted to get a thread going on what people have been using for media directors? Hardware? Video Cards? Sound Cards? Cases? So i can get some ideas of what is out there. Thanks

I try to use Intel-based Mac Mini - http://www.apple.com/macmini/. Also, you can check aOpen mini PC - http://minipc.aopen.com/us/spec.htm which looks like MAc Mini. ASUS DIGIMATRIX - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16856110011 seems a good choice for MD.

I just try to boot it from Plutohome TFTP server but without luck yet. But there is an example howto boot Linux to Mac Mini (PowerPC not Intel-based) via network and run there MythTV - http://www.mythtv.org/wiki/index.php/Diskless_Mac-Mini_Howto#Forcing_the_Mac_Mini_to_boot_from_the_net.
