Title: Add Commands / Rename Buttons on Orbiter (UI2)
Post by: Witzman on December 29, 2008, 10:22:33 am
Hi.

Is it possible to rename the standard buttons on the Orbiter.

I generated some scenarios (Internet Radios) and i am not using the Lightning Scenarios.

For now i added all my "Play Radio" buttons in this group.
Is it possible to rename the "Lights" or "Climate" button and let the Orbiter show up the text "Radio"

Thanks in advance,
Witzman

Yes thats possible... but you would need to use HAdesigner or QuickDesigner to make the changes and would need to learn the 'arcane' art involved in not just using these pieces of software but also the intricacies of how the LinuxMCE UI's are built.

Seach the forum for threads about HAD (or HAdesigner) and you will see that consistently tschak909 name will appear... what tschak909 (Thom) does'nt know about LinuxMCE and in particular using & designing UI's with HAdesigner is not worth knowing. Also look our here for Thom's excellent screencasts that will take you through all aspects of this process.

Happy New Year

Wow - that was fast.

Thank you.. Will have a look on this later today.

Another thing:
I want to send a "shell command" from the Orbiter.

My opinion is the following process:
I create some kind of scenario, but instead of sending the playlist  (like i did for internet radio), i have to look for another device / plugin which allows me to send a command to a shell.
Is this the right thinking?
Is it possible and some device / Plugin exists?

Or is this also HAdesigner stuff?

Ciao,
