Title: Multiple hybrid machines
Post by: LameDuck on December 15, 2008, 05:59:04 pm
I know the expected install is one core and 1 or more MDs.  Is there any reason why I can't have 3 hybrid machines?  They would be independant, but I'd like them to be able to share media, I guess that's just an NFS share and a local mount, or is this something LMCE handles itself?

Cheers

Jim

You probably want to read the wiki.  The core part of a hybrid setup needs things like DCHP server for full functionality, multiple cores is a bad idea.  A properly setup config is one core and one or more mds, which can include a hybrid.  LMCE handles the remote mounts and by default you can access any devices (ie TV tuner) and media from any MD.

Follow the guidelines and I think you will find it does what you want.

Hi

If you tell us the reason why you want such a setup, maybe we can tell you how to do what you want with the normal setup instead  ;)
