seems to be cheap and small and there are plenty of them out there

I think it should work, appears to be running on 'Windows 2000'

do most people run their orbiters on wireless LAN or bluetooth?

Bluetooth is used for the mobile orbiters (Symbian S60, JavaMO, Win Mobile). Windows CE/XP/2000 Orbiter uses WiFi or wired LAN connection.
