Title: Xine suddenly ends play of avi file: ... no running seekers found....
Post by: bulek on October 03, 2008, 08:00:59 pm
Hi,

when my kids watch one of the avi files, it almost for sure sooner or later ends and puts LMCE into non working state - (often my media internal hdd disappears from media browser and even router reload doesn't help)...

I see this in Xine player log :

Any hint what is wrong?

I probably have problematic avi file (not sure how often this happens with others - we don't watch them much), but anyway putting system into non responding state is pretty inconvenient, so would like to get to the bottom of this one....

Thanks in advance,

regards,

Bulek.

Hmmm... cant say that we have ever seen that at all. Looks like some damage in the file to me... as I am sure we would have seen this by now.

Wish I could help Bulek, all I can say is that the event messages seem to be normal (or at least what I get too, with normal playback) I'd say you are right, there is some corruption in the stream which is tripping up the codec, but because it is low level, there is not error handling logic around it, so nothing gets logged. Does seem strange that this has such an impact on the rest of your system tho!
