Title: Kubuntu question
Post by: Zebra3 on August 08, 2008, 03:25:59 pm
I see that i get an interface with MCE to use kubuntu on my MD's for personal computing,
What I am wondering if it works just like normal kubuntu, will I be able to make it use GNOME
instead of KDE?

LinuxMCE is integrated with KDE very closely. So, I'm afraid you cannot use GNOM on MD.

Not even just for the PC itself?

I know I can't run it as the GUI for interfacing with MCE, but I mean just as the PC part...

you boot any OS you want on the PC itsself - but you won't be able to access it directly from LMCE - it will require it to at least be rebooted. LMCE does have options in the UI to boot to a media director's internal OS. Whats nice about using Kubuntu is that is is fully integrated and does not require the reboot.
