Title: Z-Wave Products
Post by: Techstyle on July 20, 2008, 07:06:03 pm
My Company Techstyle UK Ltd. (www.techstyleuk.co.uk (http://www.techstyleuk.co.uk)) imports products from the far east to Europe and North America for Wholesale and Retail customers.

In my search for new products (and because I have set up a LMCE system) I have found a supplier for Z-wave products.  Below is an example of the products/prices:

Window/door sensors  - £20.99
PIR Motion Sensor - £24.99

I am looking for some feedback on prices and interest from the LMCE community.

could you provide test samples of those?

I'm just rewriting the Z-Wave code, and this sounds very interesting. I assume they work on EU Z-Wave frequencies (868Mhz)?

best regards,
Hari

No idea how I missed this thread. Z-wave window/door sensors for the E.U. are nowhere to be found atm so this does indeed sound interesting.

Everspring also has those sensors, but I don't know if they already released them.

I've tried finding them but no luck, so I guess not. I haven't sent them any email though. There's also Hawking Technology that's selling the same sensors in white (model: HRDS1). They have it on some european ebay sites/shops but they're not 868Mhz :S

I will send samples to help with the code development, although I don't have them at the moment.  I wanted to see if there was interest before importing them because I have to import a large quantity to make it viable.

They could be either be EU or US frequency from our US or UK office.

Do people think the prices I quoted are desirable?

Jason

if the samples work (and I assume that if they follow the Z-Wave spec) I'd buy two PIRs and two door/window sensors.

best regards,
Hari

Hey,
Price seems fine. As said earlier I'd be mostly interested in the window/door sensors but the PIR's too.

We'd be interested in both PIR's and door/window sensors. We'd buy some samples for testing too... when will you have samples?

All the best

will test them now and report,

added some code, they work fine with the latest svn revision. One has to associate the dongle to group 1. Will be full plug and play in SIS mode soon.

best regards,

Hari,

Great news!!!

Having seen/touched the products would you still buy them at the prices talked about?

I am not sure what I would need to do to get the latest svn revision or what SIS mode is?

Andrew,

I will wait for your appraisal before placeing an order for more pieces

If I get a good response from Andrew as well I will create a WIKI page for both products but as you can see from my earlier questions I may need some help on the technical (installation) side.

Hi Jason,

I agree with Hari - the overall physical quality of the products is good. The user docs and technical information included is a little on the 'light side' but that can be easily fixed. The one criticism I would have is that the PIR is a little on the large size compared to other PIR's and I am not sure that the Silver finish is ideal (most other products come in more 'discreet' colours eg grey/cream).

Technically they seem to work fine and I think the price looks agreeable.

I'd be interested to here what other ZWave products you are looking at for the European market as we are looking for suppliers.

All the best

Andrew

Heya, is there any update on selling these? You're still kind of the only one with door/window sensors at EU frequency =)
Thanks in advance.

Sorry for the delay we were going to get them in starting a couple of weeks ago but then were hit by the sudden change in USD - GBP exchange rate whcih would mean an increase in price.  so we waited to see if there would be a stabilisation.

Now I am hoping we will have them in about 4 Weeks

Motion detectors are in stock now, Door/Window detectors will be in stock from Monday, place your orders now and get them shipped Tuesday:

SP103 PIR Motion Detector - £38.99 - http://www.techstyleuk.co.uk/index_files/sp103.htm (http://www.techstyleuk.co.uk/index_files/sp103.htm)
SM103 Door/Window Detector - £34.99 - http://www.techstyleuk.co.uk/index_files/sm103.htm (http://www.techstyleuk.co.uk/index_files/sm103.htm)

Unfortunately the prices have increased from what was originally published, this is because of the changes in exchange rates and shipping/banking costs.

Hi techstyle,

would it be possible to deliver the SM103 in white instead ?
All my windows and doors are white and the silver color is a showstopper there :(

All products listed now are in stock (excluding the new colour) and tested working with LMCE (at least 0710). Just go ahead and purchase off the website.  If you are interested in bigger batches let me know.  We don't usually discount much less than 10 pieces because we let our flat shipping rate provide a reduction in the average cost per piece.
