I have one of those all in one HP printers. Bought it back in 2005ish. Is there any trick to getting it set up. I plugged in the USB and nothing seemed to happen. I checked the Hardware info in KDE and it was not listed. Is there anything special I need to do to get the printer to load? I have set up a network printer in ubuntu before and it was pretty straight forward.

I'm running Kubuntu 8.04 and an HP Officejet 6210 All-In-One (not an LMCE system). Just make sure you have the HP packages installed and it should just work. hpijs, hplip and anything else that seems related. After I installed Kubuntu all I did was plug in the USB cable and both printing and scanning just work.

Thank you, I will try that when I get home this evening.

Not yet.. I haven't gotten around to it. I will most likely sometime this weekend.

Here is an update on this finally.
I was able to get my printer to work with me core,... which is great..
However... I do have limited knowledge of printer and file sharing options with linux. I set my printer to be shared but my windows PC cannot seem to locate it in the add printer wizard. Could someone maybe give me some pointers on how to configure my printer so it is open and visible on the network? I can log into my profile on the DCERouter but under printers and faxes there is nothing listed.
